The software is easy to use, and does what I need it to do. Support, via email or the forum is excellent. I've used the cart on more than 50+ websites over almost 20 years. To me, there is nothing comparable and Vince keeps the features updated to meet modern standards.

I have been a customer for the last 13 years. It was a low cost solution at the time when ecommerce was just blowing up. At the time I think Magento was the biggest hosted solution but they charge $50. I refused to pay that. I found ecommerce template, paid them a one time fee to purchase the template and I was free from having to pay anything for a long time. Like many others, I was able to find my own hosting company, upload the template there and start comfiguring. I stuck to their original template for a few years but decided to pay a developer a few hundred dollers to do an over haul on the site which made it more modern. This was the second time I had to pay. Recently in 2021, paid Ecommerce template folks for updating my sites to the latest reposnive css template. They were easy to work with, and accepted most of my requirements, It was enjoyable working with them. Yes there are other software out there that probably have more integrations and more features but at the end of the day you end up paying $600-1000 a year for that. With these guys, you pau $150 up front and you are set for a few years. All you have to do it upload some photos, write some production description and you are good to go. I recommend these guys and hope they stay in business.

Painfully Outdated, Just Waiting To Die I've been working with this software for years, and with every year that passes, it only gets sadder. The code is written in massive, disorganized blocks. The logic and structure are predictably sloppy. The interfaces, both the front-end and administrative back-end, are clunky. And if you need any more proof this software is stuck in the past, the "updates" they sell you, you copy-paste them onto your site. You can literally get better for free. (See OpenCart or Magento for starters.) And this technical debt takes its toll. Should you wish to customize your site, you will discover: (a) There are precious few extensions in existence. (And don't expect them to be free.) (b) There are very few developers to hire. (c) Because of (b), there will be limited reference material, making development even harder . (d) Because of (c), development will more costly. Especially because developers have little incentive to turn any work on this platform into extensions. Don't jump on this sinking ship. It might actually cost you more than if you had nothing at all when you realize you need to get off.

Absolutely awful!! I cannot figure out how this joke of a "platform" even exists anymore, let alone how they have the audacity to CHARGE for updates to their crap code (*when they finally get around to updating it...)? I'm genuinely unsure which is worse, the inefficient, archaic codebase, the terrible UI/UX, or the stupid product name itself, which makes it next to impossible to get decent Google results for "Migrate Ecommerce Templates to WooCommerce" or Shopify, or ANY other modern platform!! Perhaps I'll just give up entirely and sell on Amazon!

I have used ECT for a long time 110-20 years for multiple websites including both business to business as well as to the consumer. The software is clear and not difficult to work with. When I started I had no experience and their documentation made it pretty easy to learn. When I ran into things I did not understand the staff and the forum was a great asset. I have used developers and they have greatly improved my sites. Recently I had the staff at ECT help me with some issues I was having with my sites - PCI compliance, T-Hub interface with QB and more. None of he problems were caused by ECT, but rather T-Hub not providing any support and changing PCI compliance rules. I paid a little money but the service provided was great and the prices were less than if I hired a developer. MUCH LESS! So I will stay with ECT and continue to be a happy client.

I have used Ecommerce Templates for almost 15 years and would never consider using any other shopping cart. Vince and Andy always respond quickly with any issues or questions you might have. The cart features and service offered is exactly what my clients and I need. New features are adding all the time. Thank you!

Ecommerce Templates goes above and beyond with their customer service and support. They are constantly updating their software to keep up with technology and internet search changes. I highly recommend this software and the company has been around a long time and stands by their product. As web developers, this software is up to our high standards, and yet it is also good for individuals looking to add a cart to their website.

Having read a very negative review, I felt I had to give a counter opinion. We started using Ecommerce Templates software back in 2005. In 2019, we are approaching 25,000 products in our catalogue. We have a turnover close to £2m. I'm not here to pretend its easy - it requires a lot of time and effort, but thanks to the shopping "cart" software we chose, we've been able to build a deep understanding of the code and maintain it all in-house. That is the main attraction of Ecommerce Templates for our company - despite the feature list growing considerably since we first started out, the core logic in the code remains consistent and is accessible. Ecommerce Templates might not have all the bells and whistles of some of its competitors, but much of that is "eye candy" and in reality, does little to increase sales. What it does do, it does well. We've toyed with alternatives over the past 14 years but prefer the logical code which has not been turned into a monster through over development, the approachable, down-to-earth ECT team and the fact that we own the software. Here's to another 14 years and then I might be able to retire!
