Dear William: (Work or knead) the ear plugs between your fingers or hands or at least 20 seconds prior to insertion, for that will disburse the pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug and they will be no residue left. Kindest regards Mary-customer service

Works really good, however I do notice a slight blueish residue that it leaves in your ear that I have to wipe out in the mornings. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the product.

Dear Vincent: On the contrary! They are MUCH MUCH BETTER than any other ear plugs in the world, but you have to prepare and insert the ear plugs CORRECTLY to really block out much sound. Please follow these proper insertion instructions and you will be pleasantly surprised. 1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 20 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and SEALS it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and ready to insert, it doesn't matter what shape it is; round, flat, long or narrow; just follow the next step. . 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push FIRMLY& FLATTEN the ear plug IN and AGAINST your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD SEAL!) If it doesn't seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will SEAL well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way& insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & sealing the ear canals, you’ll notice a HUGE improvement. 4. To Remove: Simply pinch the ear plug with your thumb & index finger and gently pull downward and out. Vincent, your success is IMPORTANT TO US.
