Lack of support
Lack of support. Have an issue with my charger and Eargo does not want to assist in the matter. The rep said they could not help me at this time. They apparently do not stand by their product.

I very much liked Eargo 7 when I first bought them, despite having to have three right side earbuds replaced, without charge, since May last year. Eargo have recently updated their app and since then, I am unable to use it. When I go to log in, I am told that I have the wrong password, despite trying several. When I attempted, (several times), to change my password, I keep on being told that they have emailed me another but it never arrives. When I called them, twice now, the ladies were very nice but unable to help. It's been several days now that I can't use my eargos and I'm fed up of this non-treatment. I want to return my eargos, get my money back and look for another hearing aid.

This is the second charger that has failed. I followed all the instructions Eargo provides (minimal at best) for reconnecting including reinstalling the App. Now not only does the charger not connect but now I have no way of controlling the two Eargo 7s while in my ears. I am on a two week business trip in Asia and typical no of Eargo they tell me to do all the things that I have already done as my sight is very good and I can read, it is the hearing that is the challenge. Hopefully, Eargo will work the bugs out of their technology and stop treating customers as if they are stupid. Until then, proceed with caution.

They kept changing policy leaving me with worthless eargos that won’t work with the charger. Despite their negligence and indifference they feel their timeline of 45 days is up. They were told repeatedly that I intended to return them but could not because I was out of the country. I bought them for a trip but could not use them. I had no control over programs or volume. The units would not communicate with the charger. They were told about all of this as it happened. I made my intention of returning them very clear. As soon as I got back I tried. First they said yes and the Next day, it was no. They have gotten very indifferent to the people they’re supposed to help. Success has not been good for them. I’m heading to Costco for real help.

The left earpiece failed after six months. Because I received them as a gift, Eargo refused to do anything for me, not even selling me a single replacement. in truth, I was already very dissatisfied with them. Constant feedback and fit problems. They are.slow to come out of the sleep mode and often hard to sync, They also did not directly with my iPhone, only their proprietary app. Look at other brands.

I purchased Eargos and initially I was impressed but then I had to replace them on warranty soon after when one of them was dysfunctional. After the replacement they were okay for a short time but then it just seemed they were too buggy. There was always an issue. They are very delicate and not good for harsh environments. They were constantly giving me issues. One notable issue is not being able to drive with windows down. If you do, you get to hear the recording switching levels due to the wind percussion yet if I wanted to change the level myself, I had to slap myself up side the head a few times and hopefully the level would change. Nice try Eargo but no cigar. I hope you benefited from my $2500.00 donation. I bought a $200.00 pair through Amazon and these things put Eargo to shame.

These people have owed me a refund since Aug 10. They are NOT hearing aids, but hearing amplifiers!!! IT WOULD BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I WOULD EVER USE THEM!!! They keep telling me my refund is coming, so is Christmas!!!

I was initially very excited about eargo and their product. I called and took an online hearing test, which was ridiculous: determining one's level of healing loss using a test administered over a cell phone line is about as far from accurate as a medical exam could be. But, I knew I was experiencing hearing loss, and just accepted it. The guy who sold me my eargo hifi neos was nice enough, but I could tell he was working off a script. And, of course, of the three models they sold at the time, SURPRISE!, he recommended the most expensive, at $2500/ pair. They offered financing, at 0% interest if paid off in 24 months. (I paid them off in 10 months.) I received them a few days later. At that time they put you on touch with a "hearing specialist" (not an audiologist), who had some basic knowledge of the devices, because he uses them. I spoke with him for about 30 minutes, mostly about maintenance. The first pair lasted less than a month. They are very poorly designed. A tiny unremovable cap sits stop the microphone that captures the sounds you've been missing. This cap has three very very very narrow openings through which sounds pass. If even the most minute flake of earwax gets in the opening, you eargo goes silent. That's what I believe happened to mine. (They never told me why the first pair malfunctioned.) A replacement set was sent, and the right one lasted about two weeks, and the left one worked on and off for several weeks; however, if I turned up above the lowest setting, it was plagued by feedback. I have tinnitus, so I really didn't need another annoying sound in my ear. I tried to contact eargo again, with so telephone tag, and then radio silence. I saw that with the eargo 5 & 6, they had addressed the issue of the microphones by designing them so that one can remove the cap entirely, and clean any earwax away from the mic. So, I called to see if they would let me trade up. When I bought mine, I was assured that if eargo made improvements to their product, I would get a very good deal if I wanted to upgrade. Sales hyperbole, bordering on deceptive trade practices, as for my $2500 eargos that I bought less than a year earlier, they were willing to knock $500 off the price of the upgraded eargo 5s. So, I basically purchased a $2500 pair of ear PLUGS from a eargo. I hope you have better luck than I did.
