Bait and Switch
They are not honest about the treatment they can provide. I double checked that they would be able to prescribe antibiotics in my state using the link provided in their FAQ and both times I was told they could. However, as soon as I paid the $35 to become a member and tried to schedule a video visit, I received a warning that no medications could be prescribed. Classic bait and switch technique. You think you're getting medical care for your sick pet, but they're actually just charging $35 a month for something you could get for free on Reddit.
Response from Dutch VetJul 16, 2024
Hi Dara, While we can't yet provide medications that need a prescription in your state at this time, we offer unlimited advice appointments with our licensed vets that work with your schedule. Another benefit of a Dutch membership is the number of highly recommended and effective over-the-counter medications available that one of our vets may determine is a good fit for your pet, as not all situations require prescriptions. We hope to be able to offer prescriptions in your state soon! If you have a moment, you can reach out to your State Representative and let them know how much value pet care via telemedicine would bring to you and your state. Here is a link to send your State Rep a message:https://myreps.datamade.us/ Let me know if you have any additional questions, or if you would like to give Dutch another try. We will keep your information on file and you will be the first to know if and when prescriptions become available in your state!
