This company is horrible. I have tried to cancel the policy that I was told could be a trial for first month. I realized I couldn’t afford it and had felt pressured into it by the salesman . When I called to cancel it got very rude very fast. They asked many personal questions and basically refused to let me cancel. I am still stuck trying to figure out how to cancel without having to close out my bank account and start over. Truly horrible experience. -5 stars

I received a call from Drive Smart on Saturday 1/11/2020. Representative sounded convincing that he was directly with Cadillac Warranty department. I own a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. From there I told the guy that I wasn’t really sure that I could afford the warranty; I didn’t have the full $114.25 budgeted at this time. So he worked it out where I could pay $25 to hold the file open at this “great price” to give me until that Monday 1/13/20 and he would call me back to get my decision and I could give him my credit card to bill balance of $89.25. To finish the story they billed the card on Monday without following up with me. I called on Monday around 4pm CST (as soon as I found out card was billed) All lines were busy continually. Called back on Tuesday morning around 0830. Spoke with 3 different people, 1st was a lady, then Another sales manager and lastly the “senior manager”; Wow, He was very sarcastic, rude. and made fun that I had him spell part of the address “Toms River”. Yes that’s simple, I wanted to verify it. I was told that I must write a letter; He wouldn’t let me cancel warranty over phone. I was instructed to write a letter once I receive the contract in the mail, because I have to wait and include the Contract Number that’s in the packet; Mileage on the Vehicle, VIN#, Year Make , Model of Vehicle, Miles as of today. Then have it notarized and suggested that I send it certified through the United States Post Office. Please learn from my mistake. Wish I had the patience and time to file complaint with BBB Sincerely Mrs Turner

Hello Mrs. Turner, Thank you for leaving a review regarding your experience with us at DriveSmart. We apologize if you feel as though your interaction with us was less than satisfactory. Due to the nature of the complaint, our compliance department had reviewed all the calls and notes related to your claim. On 1/11/2019 you enrolled your 2008 Cadillac Escalade. During your enrollment call it was clearly stated that the company you were speaking with was in fact DriveSmart Warranty. During this call our Sales Representative sold you a policy and allowed you to pay a small deposit on your sons credit card and wait until 1/13/2019 to pay the rest on said card. Your call was sent through to our Verification Department where out Verification Representative went over your information as well as your payment. It was then verified by you that DriveSmart could charge the card a small deposit on the day of enrollment and the rest on the 1/13/2019 post date. On 1/14/2019 you called with an intent to cancel and talked to our Inbound Department who then transferred you to our Customer Service Department. During this call you discussed that you wanted a refund of the money that was charged and the policy cancelled. Our General Manager explained that to cancel the policy and get a refund you would need to send in a notarized letter of cancellation as per the policy handbook. As per the policy handbook, a written intent to cancel is needed to close out coverage entirely and cease billing attempts. This is stated in the booklet for protection on yourself as a consumer as well as the administrator to ensure they are not liable for any future claims. We apologize if this was an inconvenience however we did not find any issues with our customer service guidelines and the deposit was refunded in full before any correspondence was received as promised. On 1/14/2019 the correspondence was received and your coverage was canceled and future billing ceased. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and if you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact out support department at 888-578-3711 Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM EST. Thank you.

Realized this was a scam within 24 hours and have been attempting to cancel my policy and get a refund. Customer service is giving me the full run around trying anything to refuse telling me to send them documents showing I have another active warranty. NO company should refuse to cancel a 2 day old policy. DO NOT PAY THEM. SCAM.

I had an extended warranty when contacted by drivesmart and was not looking to change because i had changed once already in a very short time. The salesman started off by telling me that they were the only warranty company that worked directly with chrysler and the others i had were third party companies. He also stated that if i cancelled he would either show me how to cancel and get a refund or if i agreed to apply the refund to my new drivesmart warranty he would get the refund back for me.I have this particular gentleman on voicemail telling me how to write letters to his competitors i have reported them to the bbb which i encourage for everyone and especially to the ag of your state and drivesmarts state new york!!!! I also have complained about the collection agent for monthly payments mepco who disingenously trys to say they have no control even after you tell them you want to cancel. In order to get the warranty all you have to do is pay the deposit but they then come up with all these hoops they want you to jump through to cancel.I told them i no longer have the vehicle why would i keep a warranty on it.The voice recording you get when you call after hours is the same salesman i had who is extremely rude when i called to cancel.Hes the one whos going to jail when i give the ag the voicemail. My warranty cost 3100 dollars which is well above grand theft in any state.

This company deserves 0 stars, not even one. I signed for 30 days promotional period and payed $114 refundable deposit. After I looked through the book they sent, I decided not to get warranty for my car. After waiting on the lane for 30 minutes, I was transferred to GM. He was incredibly rude, arguing with my and my boyfriend for another 30 minutes why we need this warranty. He was cutting my sentences. He was very loud and unprofessional. After he realized I am not keeping this terrible warranty, he told me all the informations the fastest he could and he wouldn't slow down and repeat. This is the worst customer service I ever experienced. I can understand selling something, but being rude to potencial customers, I can't. Even though if I needed warranty, I would never buy it from them !

Hello Ms. Aleksic, Thank you for leaving a review regarding your experience with us at DriveSmart. We apologize if you feel as though your interaction with us was less than satisfactory. Due to the nature of the complaint, our compliance department had reviewed all the calls and notes related to your claim. On 12/09/2019 you enrolled the 2014 BMW 320. On 12/26/2019 you called with an intent to cancel your policy after reviewing it within the 30-day review period. During this call the General Manager was able to clarify any questions or concerns found within the policy handbook. Our General Manager and our Customer Service Agents during this call wanted to make sure you understood the Terms and Conditions in this policy booklet before canceling out by explaining the benefits of keeping the coverage. After that point it was determined that you wanted to proceed with cancellation, so a cancellation request was submitted for you to receive your full refund. After reviewing the calls we found the General Manager did however repeat the address for you as well as how to cancel the policy each time he was asked to repeat himself. On 1/6/2019 the correspondence was received and your coverage was canceled and future billing ceased. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and if you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact out support department at 888-578-3711 Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM EST. Thank you.

Worst customer service I've ever had in history if I can give them a negative 100 Stars I would this company is some of the worst rudest customer service representatives in history do not buy from this company sold the vehicle was told I have to have a bill of sale by them and then I have to provide information to them on the sale none of their business it's a private sale the car was sold for parts so was told I have to provide them a bill of sale a certified letter saying this car has been sold then the supervisor customer service supervisor hangs up on us when we were talking to him. I'm willing to bet that they boost their own ratings or reviews by having their employees do the reviews for them because ten-to-one their employees don't even buy their own product they don't want to help you they want to give you the run-around you ask for a supervisor they say I am the supervisor you ask for the supervisor again their boss and they finally get you one 30 to 45 minutes late and then they're rude to you the service is ridiculous don't use them

Hello Mr. Henderson, Thank you for leaving a review regarding your experience with us at DriveSmart. We apologize if you feel as though your interaction with us was less than satisfactory. Unfortunately, due to the lack on of information on your account, our compliance department was not able to locate an account with this name. However, in the occasion that a customer is asked for a bill of sale on a covered vehicle, it allows us to close an account out with the proper document needed to issue a pro-rated refund back to you. We would like to look into your case further and ask that you contact us at 888-578-3711 Monday-Friday 9AM to 5PM Eastern time and provide your policy details to determine if your account has been handled properly.
