If I could I would rate them a zero in…
If I could I would rate them a zero in most areas! At first everything was fine, the loan officer and his team were outstanding, hats to to them. We started looking at the house in April of 2022 and loved the floor plan. We met with the DR Horton realtor and signed the papers and gave him of deposit that same day. After that things did not get any better. Our first walk through was a mess, not even sure why we did it, they were not ready the house still had much to be done before it was ready. On the final walk we still had alot of things not finish or addressed from the first walk through and they even postponed it twice to get ready. Our back yard was not cleared to the property line and the back and side yards were missing most of the sod and after being in the house for a month the yard and still not done, but the houses across the street that no one is living in area completely sodded! It's one excise after another. They are telling me once again it will be done by the end of this week, but they are still working on the houses that no is in yet, now mind you this is most of our neighborhood missing sod and seven house that they did not clear the lot all the way. Don't try and call the corporate office, because all they do is tell the local DR Horton people that they have a problem, (in other words nothing changes). Once they get your money you become a second hand citizen. I lost the shed I was going to buy because the company could not hold it for me any longer, because it's been five weeks since we were told we would be getting sod! I even have an email from the superintendent fir this area saying we would be getting sod. At closing they want you to sign off on everything even if it's not done. They had to come back and change out the spare bathroom mixer valve because it was not working, and to find out they had 9 others out of 27 homes in the neighborhood with the same problem. The door jams in the house are off the floor anywhere from a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch. The A/C and return vents were screwed down to tight and bent about half of them, they fixed one by caulking it to the ceiling! We have been in the house for five weeks and still do not have a mail box system for the neighborhood, but if you go down to Spears Crossing the new DR Horton sub division they have it up and ready and they have not even built the first house yet, again all we get are excuses about why it not up yet. I could go on but DR Horton does not care about the small guy, I paid just shy of $300,000 for this house and regret it now. They throw the term Express home around as to say cheap home, I don't think the money I put out is cheap in any way! Final thought for anyone who cares, don't buy a DR Horton home until you have checked them out, the team in our area have no clue how to take care of customers unless you are part of there family, post master, Hardie board company owner, or the new warranty rep for the area, all there yards are complete, I guess it who you are in this company and what you can do for them! I'd love to speak to the owner of the company, I wonder if he or she knows what happens in the field, because the higher ups won't return calls or even contact you! Hope this helps someone out there before making a miatake.
