Talking to there agents is very stressful. I had a bad experience that I will never forget. False promises and stop answering calls when I was being nothing but patient and kind. I would never own a home where I get treated like that off the jump so that only tells me if I had problems how they would act.

Sleazy Buy Here Pay Here Antics
Run! I am an exceptionally well qualified buyer. They lied and promised a bait and switch interest rate then tried to hide "included" appliances in closing costs on the buyer's agreement. This company is like dealing with a sleazy used car lot. You've been warned.

Stay away from DR Horton.
Stay away from DR Horton.
Buying a home from DR Horton has been one of the biggest disappointments I’ve experienced as a homeowner.
My townhouse is only two years old, yet the roof is already leaking. Water has damaged the ceiling, causing the paint to bubble and peel. I contacted DR Horton immediately. They came out, inspected the issue, and told me everything was fine. However, the roof continues to leak, and the damage keeps getting worse.
Unfortunately, that’s not the only problem. Cracks have appeared in the corners of the house, there are noticeable gaps in the stairs, several doors no longer close properly, and paint is peeling in multiple areas. These are not the kinds of issues anyone should expect in a nearly new home.
What disappointed me the most was DR Horton’s response. Instead of standing behind the quality of their construction, they simply told me that my one-year warranty had expired and refused to repair the roof. In my opinion, a roof should not fail after only two years. That points to poor workmanship or construction defects—not normal wear and tear.
I expected much better quality and customer service from one of the largest homebuilders in the country. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend DR Horton to anyone. If you’re considering buying one of their homes, think carefully about what could happen if serious construction problems appear after the warranty expires. I truly regret my decision and would choose a different builder if I had the chance.

Bought a spec
Bought a spec. Gave them 5 weeks to have it ready. Moved into a hot mess. Here we are 4 weeks later with a non working air conditioning unit, issues which have been addressed X 2 as 1st person could not do the work adequately. NO super on premises so houses are going up without supervision. Called main office in TX and they were to get back to me. Never did. TNTC problems. Stay away from this builder. Would give no stars if allowed.

Elena Trails
Elena Trails. Craftsmanship, what is that...they have none. Cheap materials even down to the watered down paint. Stucco so thin it just flakes off. Lightswitch placements so random. Had an electrician come out to have ceiling fans installed (DR HORTON TO CHEAP TO HAVE THAT AS PART OF HOME). They said wiring all screwed up and cost me hundreds to fix it right. Patio so small two chairs and thats it that will fit. Landscaping plants, what a joke, cheap unruly and down right ughly. Driveway chips and the sidwalk out front wasn't poured right and ser people trip on it daily. Cheapest carpet and padding I have everseen. That almost should be considered illegal. My neighbors been here 8 months and community pool not even operable and common or grass areas all half dead, builder garbage everywhere all the time yet we all have to pay HOA dues...for what. Private pools have been put in and being used but not that pool. Water has been in it a month, chairs up, but no access, Every aspect a joke. Take responsibility for nothing, no straight answers and excuses for everything to this and that not covered. Owned several homes and never experienced anything as poor all around as this company. Quality rated minus, NOTHING good to say about it. Wish I did not purchase. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...DO NOT BUY A DR HORTON CHEAP HOME. Anywhere, they should not be allowed to build.

DR Horton
DR Horton, cheapest home I’ve bought- quality wise. Interior walls no insulation! Laminate flooring-no vapor barrier padding-instead used visquen -IE plastic sheeting. Worst drywall work I’ve ever seen!! Poor A/C duct work. Improper nailing of James hardie siding boards. Warranty not worth the paper it’s written on!

DO NOT BUY D.R. HORTON HOME
DO NOT BUY D.R. HORTON HOMES! DO NOT BUY!!
Based on our experience and the experiences of multiple homeowners in our community, D.R. Horton continues to build, sell homes and are Board of Directors of HOA who neglect HOA Management company's failure to maintain common areas, deteriorated community conditions, and lack of accountability. While homes are actively marketed and sold, existing new homeowners are left to deal with problems even during the warranty phase.
One of the most fundamental responsibilities of any HOA Management Company is to inspect, maintain, and actively manage common areas before problems spiral out of control. Homeowners should not be forced to act as unpaid inspectors, repeatedly reporting obvious maintenance failures and fighting for basic upkeep that should already be happening. In our community, this neglect has fueled escalating gopher infestations originating from HOA-controlled common areas and spreading into homeowner properties, causing damage to landscaping and creating ongoing property concerns. What is even more infuriating is the response homeowners receive when legitimate concerns are raised. Rather than conducting an independent review of the facts, D.R. Horton has repeatedly accepted the HOA management company’s narrative and treated these issues as someone else’s problem. This is intentional deflection by D.R. Horton and D.R. Horton Board of Directors of HOA. It sends a clear message that protecting the HOA management company takes priority over addressing the concerns of the homeowners who actually live in the community.
The landscaping architectural review process is equally troubling. Appointments have been canceled, concerns brushed aside, and homeowners left without any meaningful avenue for fair approvals. The process feels stacked against residents from the start. Despite escalating these issues to multiple D.R. Horton's regional Vice Presidents, there is no meaningful intervention and urgency. D.R. Horton show no interest to talk to the homeowner once the home is sold, they cancel the appointments and do not take any supportive actions to homeowners even under warranty. D.R. Horton Leadership has failed to step in and address HOA management failures that cause damage to the homeowner properties under warranty. HOA management company has confirmed that it only serves as a liaison between homeowners and the D.R. Horton-controlled Board, where responsibility ultimately rests with D.R. Horton Board of Directors of HOA until homeowner elections occur and control is formally transferred.
The ongoing property damage, repeated dismissals, and lack of meaningful response have created tremendous frustration and stress. D.R. Horton aggressively markets and sells homes while existing new homeowners under warranty period struggle with unresolved HOA maintenance failures leading to new home owners property damage, and D.R. Horton is creating bureaucratic obstacles to abandon its responsibilities to the new communities it controls.
DO NOT BUY D.R. HORTON HOME! The risks extend far beyond financial costs—they include ongoing stress, endless battles for basic maintenance, declining community standards, and the frustration of feeling ignored by the D.R. Horton which responsible for the new neighborhood. I have all the pictures, videos, emails, text messages evidence for the information shared here.
