Worst builder on earth. If I could give 0 stars on this site I definitely would. Multiple issues and I’ve only been in my home for 4 months now. Many doorknobs coming off the doors, doors unaligned and hard to close/lock, garage issues…. These houses are cheap and a waste of anyone’s hard earned money. If you’re deciding between a dr Horton home or someone else, please go with the other option. It can’t be any worse than these cheap pieces of crap they are selling people

Low quality builder
This builder uses the lowest quality possible and honestly I don’t know how some of their things make it through inspections. We experienced approximately 30 warranty issues in our first year and honestly could have done more. Major issues include structural unevenness in our framing and dryer ducts left unattached to exterior outlets. Look for a local company who cares about its customers.

Very cheap
Very cheap, shoddy construction. They build homes on concrete pads that are not fully cured. Siding has a tendency to buckle and fall off.

One of DR Hortons terrible homes And hopefully in a few years, we can sell this home!
I’m going to make this short and brief as I can. We have only lived in our home three months. Our home was built very sloppy! Our home still needs the stucco to be finished, the outlets are crooked, paint on the walls seems to be done like they were in a hurry especially around the outlets and there seems to be some dings around the walls like where they put in the stove. I can go on and on, but I will cut it short right there. Those are the things that stand out
If I had the chance to shop for homes again, it definitely wouldn’t be in the area that I’m in!
I would not recommend DR Horton!
Not impressed at all!!

Won’t ever use this builder again
Won’t ever use this builder again, house is 2.5 years old and already having leaks from either the window or the roof. We can’t figure out where it’s coming from but the living room wall now is wet and growing black mold. We thought by buying new construction we wouldn’t have to worry about these kinds of issues for years. We emailed the builder and they don’t to do nothing about it, they said we are past the warranty . Never saw a builder not stand behind their own work. This wasn’t a cheap house, it’s 2 stories and 5 bedrooms. After talking to a few other neighbors they were having similar issues. I have a house that is from the 1950s and have never had a major issue like I do with a new build! Never again with this company! I could see if the house was 10-20 years old but 2.5 ?

We purchased a DR Horton home in Kingston Bay Conway Sc Horrible construction
We purchased a DR Horton home in Kingston Bay Conway South Carolina and the Quality suck. The doors are all split on the edges, the faucets leak all the trim is cracked around the doors. Outlets are crooked crack, and the walls and the ceiling garage doors need repainted, and the hardy plank is coming off.

Stay away from DR Horton homes they…
Stay away from DR Horton homes they throw them together too fast they have a lot of flaws and the worst part is their warranty they tell you they will come back in a year and fix any defects to sue the home settling like nail pops etc well when they come back they say the nail ops aren’t big enough how big does a nail pop need to be?? When we get really heavy rain water leaks in at the top of one window and they come out and say it is condensation how does condensation run like running water?? They don’t want to stand behind there warranty!! DR Horton sucks go buy another home!

Beware!! Do not use DR Horton.
We moved into our brand new, freshly built DR Horton home 3 months ago. During the final walk through, my fiancé and I were still flagging things that needed to be fixed by the builder -- cracked molding, molding separating from the wall, chipped cabinets, etc. -- and they claimed that they would fix it. 3 months later, we have had our door knobs constantly falling off, our doors won't shut, the molding on the stairs is getting worse (we were told the house is settling), we never got our cabinets that were promised, and our bathtub has a giant crack running through it. I reached out about the bathtub and they said that it's not covered under the warranty and sent me some maintenance instructions to do it myself. We are going to have to replace our tub in our brand new house. Not only are we having problems, our neighbor's front door completely fell off, another's brand new dryer that they installed doesn't work, and that's only the things that I have been told about. When our back door knob fell off and we called about it (I know we could fix it, I was just mad at the volume of times we had had to fix it in such a short time), the builders were furious at us for calling, did not want to show up to do anything about it, and complained when we finally convinced them to show up. I am new to home buying, so maybe this is standard treatment and expectations, but it seems ridiculous to me that we will have to buy a new bathtub 3 months into a brand new house and have all of these problems.
