Until this year, my review would have been 5 stars. But there have been problems with year, including the fact I sent an email over the weekend about a problem and here it is Wednesday with no response to that email. I'll be looking at other options.

Drake is simply the best all around tax preparation software on the market. They have fantastic support and are quick to send out updates when available. We enjoy how easy it was to get setup as our first tax season as a firm - our old provider quit working right before the season. Drake was easy to learn, and with their knowledge base/videos to watch on their website it made it also easy to train new preparers. We enjoy using the software and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future.

Live Chat is the best customer service available from any business organization in America. Intuit is the worst. Pricing is very reasonable and Drake does not increase its prices every year like Intuit. Drake Tax software is fast, efficient and accurate. Be a good Duck and buy Drake.

Changed to Drake Software 10+ years ago, when my prior software almost doubled their renewal price. Since then, I've had very few issues with Drake. Those issues that occurred were resolved through Drake's Support Staff within a few minutes. My other software would take up to 30 minutes just to answer the phone! Drake, over the past 10yrs+ has never taken more than 30-45 seconds to answer the phone!! Add to the superb customer support the early release dates and constant up-dating of their software plus news updating via e-mail, and I find that I have found one great company at a very reasonable price!

Exactly, tax software shouldn’t break the bank. We appreciate the feedback!

Drake is a great package for those who know what they are doing. This is not for the preparer just starting. In the vast majority of cases, the defaults work IAW government regulations and laws. The strongest part of Drake is that the customer service people are in the US and know both taxes and the software. A real person answers the phone and generally can point to the place in the software to find the correct screen. The software has a robust override capability for those areas that normal defaults do not generate the correct results.

The basic program is great but califoria has bugs I have reported years ago not fixed including simple things as doing corporate estimated taxes correctly. it is a minimum of 800 and if the tax is greater at least the first payment must be 800 and the remainder is spread on 2 payments not 3 like the irs. Also you need dedicated support for things like corporate returns and states like California and NY that or so different. i would rather get a call back in2 hours than spend 30 minutes with someone not familiar with corporate returns
