In early 2020 my therapist decided to use telehealth exclusively. She decided to use Doxy.me. Most of the time in 2020 and early 2021 there were few problems. Now the connections are terrible. She usually sees me and most often hears me but I cannot see or hear her. I NEVER have this problem with Skype, Duo, Updoc or Zoom. My connection is 230Mbps with 1080p camera. I think she is using a notebook computer. She says she has no problem with other clients. Doxy.me troubleshooting says sound and video are working fine. I really dislike that there is no way to contact Doxy.me as a patient. My patience is wearing thin.

Without fail, every time I have tried to connect to the mobile version from my phone, it will disconnect me immediately after finalizing the connection. Only usable from my home PC. Thanks guys, I always like unpaid time off just to have a 15min conversation on my home PC that could have happened OVER THE PHONE VS A VIDEO CALL.

This is the most crackpot anxiety-inducing software "solution" I've ever seen. 2 different providers I use use this software. Compression is terrible, lag is bad, resolution is bad, and the WORST... if you switch applications at all.... totally crashes the call. This is 2021. If you claim to be a medical provider software...be BETTER. Flickering red / green reception indicator is useless, goes from green / full to red / 1 bar on a repeating pattern, regardless of being stationary. No way to load the comments / chat box again once a provider has sent a message, because all there is at the bottom is the usual microphone mute - end call - settings buttons. HORRIBLE experience always. Cerebral (great company) uses this software. It's my only complaint. Other than going to Doxy's website, ALL they have is a chat bot, not even an email address to contact them with. So I'm more than happy to leave a review on here. Maybe they'll see this.

Doxy is very easy to set up and use. However, it is extremely glitchy. If the patient is using their phone and they get a call during the session, they decline the call but suddenly there is no sound on Doxy. We often have to disconnect, refresh, and reconnect. More recently, for the first 20sec to 2min of every session, patients state my voice is robotic and scratchy. We have to wait for the sound to correct itself or they cannot understand me. Often times, it will show both parties have a strong signal but video and audio cut in and out. It makes therapy very difficult, especially when the patient is already stressed/upset. My agency is switching to a new platform next month.

Have been using doxy.me since March, 2020. In the beginning, the platform worked very well. In the past two or so months, I'm finding it taking longer to connect to patients. The video is fuzzier. It also glitches in and out. Not always because of a poor internet signal. In general, I would rate doxy.me a 4 1/2 in April. Now, only a 3. I'm using the free version and do not know if the paid format is better.

I enjoy the platform and do recommend it to other therapists. I upgraded my package hoping for improved overall quality (i.e. both sound and visual) however I have not found a significant difference. I may appear with slightly more clarity and crispness to clients however their images often continue to be appear diffuse and grainy. Delayed and poor sound as well as freezing remain issues on both sides at times. I also have a few clients for whom the service just does not work (i.e. a consistent poor and broken connection due to their Internet I presume) and we have to use alternate platforms.
