Virginia Okinawan Karate Dojo loves the puzzle mats.
We ordered the wood patterned puzzle mats, twice! The first order was a trial to put in my small home dojo. Putting in the mats was a breeze. Just push snap in place and add the trim around the edges. Plus, they are larger and thicker so they don't come undone with every second or third move on them like other mats I tried. Then I ordered for the new dojo. Wow! Couldn't be easier to install! I think it took a couple of us 1 to 1 1/2 hours to install the entire floor. I had workers come in to install mirrors and rather than have them walk over the mats I just pulled out mats so they could walk and work over the space necessary. Within 15 minutes I had the 10 mats I pulled up in place. So the mats thick, substatial material provides nice resistance for a hard surface feel, you slightly feel the cushion under your feet without sinking into the mat causing balance concerns. We practice a lot of throws in our karate style and the floor provides outstanding padding for falls. Plus the wood pattern finish looks just like, well, a wooden floor! I focused on trying Dollamur mats because three of my colleagues recommended them. Try Dollamur mats, you will be glad you did!
