Dog Vacay made it very easy to find a pet sitter. The website includes past users reviews of each of the pet sitters listed in addition to their approximate location from you which helped me decide who I initially wanted to contact. Was able to do a meet and greet with the pet sitter before deciding whether to book with them or not. The only downside (which was not a deal breaker for me) is as soon as you and the pet sitter agree on the dates they will be watching your pet they notify Dog Vacay and you are charged immediately. So when I booked with the pet sitter in June for my Christmas vacation in December I paid for it immediately. It would be nice if you could pay closer to the time you are actually leaving your pet with the sitter. As an added note they do say if you cancel 30 days or more before your booking your money is refunded minus a small service charge.

Our sitter is always so accommodating. Even when she has dogs she is caring for, she is still will find time to do a walk or two. The problem I have run into with Dogvacay scheduling is the scheduler allows me to make appt. for day care even though our sitter already has dogs that have been scheduled to stay in her home for a few days. But if she blocks out the day, I am unable to schedule a walk. Other than that Dogvacay has been a life saver. Thank u

I used DogVacay for the 1st time last week for the New Year's holiday and I have to say it was a great experience for us and for our dog whom we placed with a great person who lives near us and focuses on senior dog care. Our dog enjoyed his vacation and got to socialize with other dogs wihich he doesn't normally do. We got peace of mind knowing that he was safe and well-cared for. I definitely plan to use DogVacay again and would highly recommend it to other pet owners as a great resource for obtaining high quality dog care with reputable providers.

Some hosts respond quicker than others - naturally. I think perhaps if DogVacay developed some sort of reward program to incentivize those who respond in a timely fashion, that may increase the response rates across the board. Same for keeping their calendars updated.

While we had a small hiccup with initially trying to reserve someone, we found a wonderful couple who accepted our reservation. They were absolutely super nice, considerate, conscientious and great with our dogs while we were away at Christmas. We didn't have to worry whatsoever. Greatly appreciate the service! Kennels in my area are sky high. Plus i just really don't like the idea of my fur child locked up in a kennel for hours "hoping" she's getting the attention I'd love for her to have while I'm away. Love that Dog Vacay connects you with loving people opening up their home to you and your pet. Love that pay is easy through the site and that you can get pics as well as send messages all through the site. Makes everything very simple and assuring while away.

This is a great option for pet owners who do not want to leave their pets in kennels when they go away. A little refining on the quality of hosts would improve the overall service
