We love dog vacay!
We became dog vacay hosts after discovering the service for our own dog. Since I work from home, it is an easy service for me to offer. We've met not just great dogs, but also some really awesome people in our area. Our dog has become so well socialized from all of these dogs in our home. One thing that would be helpful for the newbies that come to the Dog Vacay site would be to make it more clear what services each host offers (as in, maybe gray out the services we DON'T offer). I can't tell you how many times this year I've been asked to go to someone's house and babysit their dog -- when our profile says that we offer Boarding for only one dog at a time in our home and daycare. We also get asked often to do drop in visits which I know some people might offer but we don't. One person literally asked me to come over and hang out at their house while they went to a football game because "their dog is more comfortable in their own home." I get that, but I can't offer that when I'm watching other dogs at my house. If there was a way for people to select what service they want before they search, maybe that would weed out the people who aren't a good fit for what we offer.
