Great place to find a sitter
Excellent experience locating and scheduling great sitters for my dog. The number of choices you have may vary depending on your location. Only two minor annoyances: 1) DogVacay charges your credit card immediately when you make a reservation - even if it's many weeks in advance (which you have to do for popular hosts); 2) DogVacay is always nagging you to review something. Overall a really good service, for which you'll pay "up front".

Hi Frank, Thank you for your review! We are so glad you were able to find some great sitters for your pup, but I am sorry to hear your frustrations regarding the payment process. Please understand, we charge your card at the time the Reservation is accepted to essentially hold a spot in the Host's home. However we do not process the payment to the Host until after the Vacay to ensure it has been successfully completed. This is done to ensure a smooth billing and payout process for both parties. The funds are held in escrow so if there are any date changes or cancellations that need to be made we can always process partial or full refunds as needed and set forth by your Host's cancellation policy. We believe in doing so, we protect our Hosts to ensure payment, and protect our Guests to allow for full refunds should the service not be rendered, or be rendered unsuccessfully. two out of three..
I have used DogVacay 3 times. The first two times were very good, with no problems at all. The third, however, was a little off. The person tried to shake me down for an extra $10 when I was dropping off, with no other options for me. Her rates were already a bit high, and she got great reviews. I refused in the end, but it was weird. Plus my dog got into their pool which was supposed to have been closed off. She was not ready for a high-energy adolescent male Labrador. I would use DogVacay again certainly, but just not that person.
