Be aware: credit card is charged for full stay when you RESERVE your stay.
Love this concept and very pleased with host, however, it does not seem quite right to me to charge the full fee of a reservation for a week in July, when I place the reservation in March.

While we do understand the concern about paying for a reservation before the reservation takes place, please know that this is put in place with everyone's best interests in mind. Our Hosts have a limited number of spaces available, so by paying for your pup's reservation at the time of booking, our system reserves that spot just for your pup to prevent overbooking. We also understand that plans change, so reservations can be modified or canceled in accordance with your Host's cancellation policy for a refund. Thank you!

Great service, when it works!
I successfully found someone on DogVacay to take care of my pup for 16 days while I was overseas. It worked out splendidly. That said, the first attempt I made on the site was ignored by the host for 5 days before I tried another. Kinda sucks that DogVacay doesn't have some kind of timeout feature.

Great care and love for first timers...who will be back!!!
She was great with the kids. Took them for walks and the played and rested and had an overall great time. We returned from our unexpected not so great trip to see that our kids had a great vacay and would be returning to see them in just a few short weeks for an even longer vacay so we can go have fun. Awesome people and furbabies!!!

DogVacay's customer service is A+
After a host cancelling on me while I was en route to her house and then another host providing me with misleading information, I was feeling extremely stressed out, but DogVacay's customer service did what they could to remedy the problem. Dana was extremely helpful and made sure everything she could do to help was being done.

First experience was horrific, second was amazing!
Our first dog sitter did not care for my girl correctly. He didn't read my note outlining her medication, so he overdosed her. He didn't pay attention to her and she came back with her nose completely ripped up. Second experience was amazing. She was a last minute emergency situation. She was excellent and very loving. Be cautious of someone who takes on multiple families as once.

The only issue I have is that every time I go into the website for check for availability I have to reset my password or first request to reset my password. An inconvenience.

DogVacay Review
My experience using DogVacay was a pleasant one. It was the first time leaving my dog with someone other than family or friends. The information that each person gives about themselves, the rating and reviews, and espectially the Meet and Greet are very helpful. I was given updates and sent pictures throughout my dog's stay. The fact that they cover veterinary costs up to 25k gave me peace of mind as well. I will definitely use them again.
