I have used DogVacay for my senior golden retriever in North Carolina and New Hampshire. In North Carolina, I had recently moved to the area and asked neighbors for a recommendation for a dog sitter and got no response. I asked a good friend who has professionally worked with dogs in the past as to what I should do and she recommended DogVacay. I reviewed the website and searched the BBB and other avenues for negative reviews and found none. I reviewed the website, requested a meet and greet with a host, met with the host, and BINGO - a perfect match. They love our dog, our dog loves them, and we felt secure and comfortable in leaving our dog with this host. We have used this host several times since. Due to this very positive experience in North Carolina, when we returned back to our home in New Hampshire, our long time dog sitter (11 years) told us she was relocating and we would need to find someone else. I immediately went to DogVacay, reviewed the local hosts, set up a meet and greet and once again - hit pay dirt. Our dog also loves this host and has stayed with her twice. Hopefully I will not have to use DogVacay again, but if I need to, it will be the first place I will go to look for a dog sitter. This service is invaluable.

If you don't want your dog getting hearing damage then go to Micheal P in Watkins Glen village. He's a true local gave great directions, has a beautiful period home, and is versed on the local quisine. My apeshit crazy Standard Poodle didn't even want to leave his house. Fantastic service. I have and will continue to reccomend this to my dog loving friends and coworkers.

Our two yorkies were with Amy for two weeks and had a fun time. I swear Angel our 4 yrs old, seemed depressed two days later with no fun dogs to play with. Both dogs did well and came home healthy and happy. Will call on Amy often even if just for doggy daycare.

Will use again

We booked daycare for several days for our dog while we were on vacation and couldn't leave the dog alone. We met a great family who took really good care of our dog. Love the peer to peer connections and ease of DogVacay!

The website was easy to use and gave me many options for a pet sitter for my dog. I liked that I could see images of homes, yards, happy pets...and that I could read reviews of previous guests. We got lucky and found a wonderful sitter in our area. Now if a friend cannot take our dog, we have a great "plan B."

This is a great website that solves the "what am I going to do with my dog" dilemma every time you want to go on a non-dog friendly trip.

Our normal dog sitter was in a wedding and we were nervous to find the right dog sitter for Rocco. Looking for a small dog appropriate sitter I google small dog sitter and stumbled upon Dog Vacay.com. I scanned some of the local profiles and happened upon Elizabeth in Scotch Plains. After sending her a message, We spoke and I dropped him off on a Friday am. We chatted for 1/2 hr and I knew Rocco was happy, content and settled. We picked him up Saturday afternoon. Rocco was so calm and we were excited to have found the perfect sitter for our fur Son !
