They get one star for connecting me with a provider... Although they said it would take 5-10 minutes and it took 35, not to mention the extensive questionnaire that the provider clearly never looked at. Then, the provider met with me for 4 minutes, which was fine (I have a UTI) and sent my prescription to the pharmacy. Sadly, the pharmacy closed early so I needed to have it sent somewhere else. This should be easy. It is NOT. I tried their messaging service, their customer service number, and every mechanism I could find. Not only did the app not work properly (I could go on and on about the dysfunction in the app) but no one ever responded to me. This morning, I had a response asking me for the address of the new pharmacy, which was already in my original request, but I sent again. That was 3.5 hours ago. No response.

Worst telehealth platform
Worst telehealth platform. I tried to work with them but they blamed me for their connectivity issues. I needed to go over possible medications and discuss my sever depression over probably not going to be able to work ever again and what that could lead to. NO FOLLOW UP WHEN THEIR SYSTEM KICKED ME OUT AFTER THE PSYCHIATRIST AND I SAID HI. I hope this message reaches others in time.

Was recommended to use this program by…
Was recommended to use this program by my employer! Horrible experience! Rude PA with no compassion! Was criticized for not having the proper medical devices on hand to test my blood pressure and heart rate! Was asked what is going on and then told she will ask the questions! They are there to make a quick buck and don’t care about the patients!!!

Doesn't deserve any stars
Doesn't deserve any stars. Refused to REFILL a prescription because this so called board certified dr didn't want to step on the toes of a nurse practitioner. Offered to furnish sputum test results from Quest Diag. July 5 and July 11. I have seen my so-called pulmonologist once in 3 years; after my first appointment was 'assigned' to his NP who requires 3-5 days to get a script into Walgreens and didn't bother looking at results that have been in his office for 2 days. I know more about medicine than either of these so-called professionals (emphysema in particular) Doesn't matter that I'm on oxygen therapy 24/7. Better I should go without antibiotics for 3 days while battling pneumonia Her excuse? Liability. Folks, only reason they accept Medicare is because they don't practice medicine - just bill your tax dollars - AND ESSENTIALLY STEAL MONEY FROM EVERY TAX PAYING AMERICAN. Surprised she doesn't demand that the Fed house her in a four star hotel while she charges for doing NOTHING

BAD!
BAD! I have used this service twice. The first time I was misdiagnosed and spent 4 days in intense pain waiting for the prescription to kick in. Did an in-person visit and was told my condition was the exact opposite of what the DR on Demand person told me.
The 2nd time I was having mental health issues. The dr was completely disengaged, reading from a checklist and basically seemed bored and indifferent while I'm describing the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Literally made my issues worse.
And NOW I keep getting emails from them wanting to charge me! This is a free benefit through my work. I emailed them back to let them know that and received no response. I just got another email demanding money and I am infuriated. I've looked on the website and can't find a link or email address to officially complain or set things straight.
Would not recommend lol!

Avoid - choose another platform
12/4/24:
Bye Doctor On Demand. My 3rd psychiatrist is no longer available, once again no notice to me. I called support, and the rep was unsympathetic, saying they "have no control" over the doctors' availability. Please see my original July review for more details of the frustration. Go to any other platform; this platform cannot provide consistent care for mental health needs and does not express the slightest regard for the inconvenience and disruption to their patients. Their customer service is rude; their providers delist with no notice, their therapists are not trained and judgmental.
I've used the platform for 4 years; they are free through insurance. In that time, it's been a very mixed bag. I've had 3 psychiatrists. One delisted from the platform after stopping my medication. The second retired from medical practice without providing the standard 30 days notice. I only found out when his calendar was not open. The third is wonderful so far, and I did let her know my previous history on the app. She is kind, validating, and fantastic at med management and quick refills.
I've also had a few therapists, with several also delisting from the platform or not fitting my needs. My current therapist started off well, however, he is recently pushing me to walk back a choice I agonized over. He is not validating my autonomy and not understanding my current issues. I have decided to stop sessions and seek care elsewhere. It is very frustrating to put in hours of work with a counselor who becomes impatient, judgmental and does not support choices made for my emotional safety. A good therapist supports your choices and guides you to better yourself, not interject their own biases and tell you what to do with your life. Remember, you are your own best advocate and an expert in your own life.
You can book fast here, and claims process fast. However, the therapy platform is overwhelmingly white; you cannot sort by race if you want an inclusive counselor. The counselors are mostly LCSW, and I've recently learned therapists can say they specialize in an area, while not actually having training for that area. I agree with another reviewer, it is very hard to have continuity of care for mental health here, since providers leave the platform without notice. If my current psychiatrist leaves, I hope she provides notice. The benefits of 100% coverage outweigh the drawbacks for now, but I will definitely pursue in person sessions in my city if I need therapy in future.
I have also used family med doctors for acute illnesses; you can book same day and they fill RX fast, so they were helpful during the pandemic when it wasn't safe to leave the house and very difficult to see a physician in town.
Overall, a mixed bag, and be mindful that while you can get decent mental health here, the providers can leave anytime, and the therapist training is widely variable.

SCAM!! Horrible Customer Service
SCAM!!! DO NOT USE! They sent me a bill over 2 YEARS after my appointments that should have been 100% covered by insurance. I talked my insurance company and the never received ANYTHING from Dr on demand. I’ve been contacting Dr on demand for months and their customer service is the worst!! They make no effort to help or resolve anything. It’s all canned/scripted replies. They won’t rebook it to insurance and just keep saying the payment is my responsibility even though they screwed up.

They will scam you out of your money because they won't run insurance correctly
I have been using this service for over 5 years. I have never been falsely charged. Since the beginning of 2024 I have been charged full price for services that my insurance covers 100%. They tell me the insurance is sending the wrong information and the insurance tells me that Dr. On Demand is running the wrong codes. Nobody seems to care, nobody seems to be able to resolve it. It's gone on for 7 months. I use this service for therapy, but it's starting to cause more distress than raw dogging life at this point.
