Found DiscountASP.NET a great service and exactly what I needed. It has a pretty intuitive interface and so much more straightforward than other services like GoDaddy.

Thanks Jeff!

I've had good luck with Discount ASP for a couple of years now. At the beginning I had to help them understand how much content I had on my site and how aggressively Google crawled it every day. I was regularly getting 503 reports from the Google webmaster tools site. It took multiple emails to support to help them understand this. I still don't know what action they took but now everything is fine. They have an API that helps you write automated tasks to keep your site running. I used it to automate my SQL Server data base backup. It worked great until it didn't. Then I had another 4 weeks of trading emails with support. "We are unlikely to update the API" was the general tone. Then suddenly it all worked (great!) but I was left to discover it for myself. A little communication would have been nice on that one. All in all my site is stable and reliable on their servers, I have everything automated and running smoothly using the API and will probably continue as long as it stays this reliable.

Thanks Don. The concurrent connections were probably increased to help with the Google 503 reports. Defaults (for everything) are set to what works for most. But I'm glad we were able to work things out for you.

I chose DiscountASP.NET because they offered more straight forward support for hosting an ASP.NET SQLServer web site than anyone else I vetted. Their online access, tools and support isvery much more in alignment with the mentality of a programmer who works in Visual Studio than any other site. I still believe that and have been more than satisfied with the support, the speed the tools accessibliity and their effort in staying up with advancing tehcnology. Having said that, I continue to review other options for a lower cost support. I haven't found anything yet.

Thanks, Dwight. You're right, we are programmer-centric. While you may find lower priced .NET hosts, you're not likely to find the focus that we have on optimizing the service for the developer community. Anyway, we're glad you're with us, and if you need anything, just let us know.

I think the service in general is great but I hope if they can give a free trial for the SQL Server addon service
Response from DiscountASP.NETDec 17, 2014
Thanks imad. I wish we could give away SQL, but Microsoft licensing fees make that impossible. We do beta offerings of new SQL technology before they are released, and those databases are always free.
