Good for music, good for life.
I'm a musician, and I had purchased cheaper hearing aids, when they were first available otc a year ago. They were OK for speech, but terrible for music. I usually had to take them out. So I read up on what hearing aids musicians liked, and settled on the Widex Moment Shear 440. Shopping around, I liked the price, as well as the reviews, for Direct Hearing. I was not disappointed! Trey helped me make sure I was getting the right model, and they came within a couple of days (I paid for faster shipping in hopes of getting them before the school year started), and out-of-the-box with an online hearing test, they were far, far better than my old ones. Then, once I had my fitting with Will, it was yet another night-and-day experience. I'm hearing things I haven't heard since I was a kid. Turns out, there are crickets in my neighborhood! And I just discovered that my dog's claws make a lot of noise on my hardwood floors, lol. I was disappointed at first with music streaming, and while they still don't have the sound quality (lacking bass) of good earbuds, they are far better, and I can stand to listen to music through them now (and I'm relatively picky on that). So the fitting made a world of difference. I'm telling everyone I know two things: 1) don't cheap out on hearing aids like I did at first, and 2) for a good deal and service, try Direct Hearing.
