Do not recommend at all! Terrible experience from day one! Representatives tell you different things even the supervisors. Asked to speak to a manager or someone over them but “only had different supervisors” they couldn’t even keep consistency on their wording, couldn’t tell me where their corporate office is. Unreliable, charges do not make sense and I got different explanations each time that didn’t add up or make sense.

Direct energy is one of the worse company for electricity in texas do not get service with them. I move last month from Texas to Georgia and I send all the information and they still charge me a cancelation feed. It funny how they put my new address in the bill and still charge me the fee.

Hi,I'm a customer of direct energy had them for 3 yrs I can say love the rate that I have for my light bill switched over to them for gas will see how my first gas bill goes great customer service rep.also I read bad reviews about them but I had no problem with my light bill wish they was around yrs ago thanks direct energy!!!

They appear to be upping my charges for my 650-square-foot apartment, stating that last month I used over 1,700 kWh. That is impossible. Everyone talked stated they are taking advantage of me. They even disrespect me every time on the phone or chat. They do not care about anyone who just wants to screw you over.

I have been a customer for over 2 years and recently cancelled due to becoming a homeowner. A little over halfway through my plan, I switched over to a plan in which they called "Average Billing." This was in efforts to reduce my bill in which the representative said my bills would become lower. They did not. Instead, the average billing accrued differences which were being added to a completely separate bill that I did not know of. Once I cancelled my plan, they sent a large bill of $536 of accrued differences. This is not including my two final bills of the plan with both being over $150. So in total, I am owing this company over $700 due to their lack of communication. When speaking with customer service in hopes of reducing the bill, I was met with a no. This is extremely wrong, unfair, and I am disappointed.

We had been paying our utility bills through Auto Pay and consistently received our bills by email without any issues. After we recently moved, however, we suddenly received a letter in the mail from Direct Energy marked “FINAL INVOICE.” Apparently, when our account changed due to the move, their system deleted our saved information, including our email address and credit card details. This is extremely frustrating because the issue appears to have resulted from changes within Direct Energy’s system rather than anything we did. If an account change or move causes Auto Pay and contact information to be removed, customers should be clearly notified immediately—not find out later through a “FINAL INVOICE” and a penalty. I expected much better communication and account management from Direct Energy.

Really not customer friendly. Tried to change my billing date (never missed a payment, ever!) and had to jump through hoops not to mention their system would take 2 months to change. What kind of antiquated systems do they have? Just inept company, with inept customer service. Want to keep customers????? Be customer friendly!!!!!!!!!

You have children running this company. I was put on cash only while I was in the hospital getting a heart transplant.Because money wasn't in the account when so called auto pay tried to collect. After getting out of hospital it took me 4 months to finally get someone to help. Now I set up average billing so there's a number I can work with. But when I asked the 8th child I dealt with they couldn't give me ANY due date. And the so called auto pay could be any fluctuating date dependant on a 28 day calender maybe. I asked when the 28 days started and obviously they would end within said 28 days maybe.This is the worst company I've ever done business with. I'll be leaving soon and will bite the bullet on cxl fees.
