They ship via the slowest possible method, despite charging for shipping. Their shipping page makes it look like they ship via FedEx Home. Nope, SmartPost which is absolutely the worst method. The likelihood of a package being lost or delayed for weeks is very high. Don’t order any that you actually need from here.

I have ordered supplies for myself…
I have ordered supplies for myself online without issue, but they are terrible with customer service & gift cards during the holidays. I ordered a gift card for my niece on Christmas Eve. They put my order on hold & then would not release it until days after Christmas. Boo.

We are truly sorry for the delay. As an extra security measure for you and for us, certain criteria do trigger a manual security review on some orders that must be completed before the order can be processed. With the extremely high volume of orders that come in during this time of year, the manual reviews can take a little longer than usual to process. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Blick approved face coverings
I was browsing for acetate tracing film wearing a PA state approved face shield. The store representative informed me that it was not acceptable even though the Pennsylvania CDC web site states that it is acceptable. He stated that only a cloth mask is store policy and told me I HAD to wear a cloth type covering. Which indicates that Blick does NOT follow PA CDC guidelines. He then walked away and did not bother to ask how he could assist me. I left the store and shopped for my art supplies somewhere else.

Thank you for reaching out and for shopping with us.
For the safety of our team members and other guests, we require all staff and guests to wear face covering regardless of individual state recommendations or guidelines. We are within all legal rights to mandate our policy on our property as long as reasonable accommodations have been made providing alternative methods of shopping such as Curbside Pickup, Home delivery and Online shopping. These accommodations have been deemed acceptable under US ADA guidelines.
As a National Retailer operating in 24 states, we are subject to inspections from local health departments, State OSHA, Federal OHSA and are required to operate with a high degree of hygiene, sanitization, and overall safety. We have published our safety protocols on our website, marketing emails and signage at the stores with the vast majority of our customers thanking us for having these protocols place. We take the safety of our staff and that of our guests seriously and do not make exceptions.
Please look for an email from our Vice President of Retail, who will be contacting you personally regarding this.

You Had One Job.
I ordered one container of paint on July 27. That's it. Simple, right? Not for Blick Art Supplies.
So, FedEx couldn't find my address for some reason and shipped the container back to New Jersey. I called Blick to inform them of this and said to re-ship it to my P.O. Box. No problem, right? Wrong.
Two weeks later, it's the 10th. No update on my shipping, no tracking, the order status on the site says "Open". Not sure what that means, but they have my money and I have no paint.
So I call. The excuse is power outages in NJ. OK, fine. Five days later I call and now the excuse is Covid. Well, usually I'm patient so I say "OK, but when is it shipping?" They say Should be Monday". That was on the 7th of August. It's now the 17th, 10 days later. Still no update and no paint and nobody seems to know anything. I called the help line, they transferred me and nobody ever came back on the line. 20 minutes of holding, nobody. And then my phone battery died. So, I get on the Facebook site and start a chat with them. That person said they can't help me and that they need a higher level supervisor to speak to me.
What? Why can't they help me? It's not Top Secret stuff... it's just simple paint order!!!
Blick, you have really let me down. I've purchased hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of supplies from you. This time is the last time.
And where the **** is my paint???

Just thought I’d share feedback on my…
Just thought I’d share feedback on my recent experience. I placed an online order earlier this month, all the while knowing it probably would take longer to arrive given the current pandemic. This delay was also noted on DickBlick’s website which I appreciated.
After about a week of having the order on hold via my bank account, it dropped off. Then the following day I get an email saying the order shipped. Two duplicate charges then show up on my bank account for the same order. Having not read the reviews on this website yet, I call to inquire about the duplication. The employee was nice, cordial, and took down my info to pass onto customer svc the next business day. (She only placed orders and couldn’t help with this issue)
I’ll assume I’ll get the same response, as many others have, when I talk to customer svc tomorrow. I don’t doubt that everything will work out and the extra pending (mystery) charge will be rescinded.
I’ve never had a separate hold, in addition to the billed amount, hit my bank account at the same time. Sure looks like there are many others that haven’t either. A little heads up goes a long way. I don’t need a magic eight ball to tell me that.

I have bought the item may 2 and it's may 7 now! And hasn't even been shipped yet. It usually takes 1–2 business days of processing the order and suppose to be delivered within 2–7 business days.BUT the status still says "open". I also emailed them and they haven't even answered!

We apologize for your delayed shipping. The past few months have been a very challenging time. The COVID-19 situation is affecting all of us.
Through this, we have remained open and ready to serve you. Please do understand that given the unprecedented circumstances and the various ways that COVID-19 situation has impacted our operations, there may be order processing and delivery delays. For online orders, there is a message noting this delay at the shipping step of checkout, and this message appears again on the order confirmation emails as well.
Additionally, our call centers are experiencing a high volume of customer calls and wait times may be longer than usual. Please know that although our associates are working very hard to fulfill your orders and provide great customer service, the current order processing and service wait times are not at all what we would consider to be acceptable under normal circumstances.
In spite of the current challenges, we remain committed to serving and getting orders to our customers as quickly as possible and thank you for your kindness, patience & understanding.

I posted once before about blick art…
I posted once before about blick art materials. A return that went bonkers ,but was resolved. Well.... I thought that had to be misunderstanding,I'm sure a sale through this company will go better. Nope not really. I ordered my wife a 36 pack of touch twin markers and a 12 pack of skin tones in the same brand. I did overnight shipping ( my wife is battling cancer time is important to us) needless to say she LOVES them so on the 8th of this month we order more ,in fact went back that same day for a few extra she said she would like. (We did the free shipping this time because she wanted extra product over receiving them quickly)Then today the 10th I recieved a bonus at work so back to the blick site I go this time choosing several colors I think she will appreciate as a surprise for her. Where the problem lies is. First the smaller of the two orders on the 8th has at least shipping info that happened today but no estimated date of arrival but the kicker is the larger order (the one I made 1st on the 8th) is still incomplete and now the order I made today says HELD ! REALLY???????? I've spent ALOT of money with them the past few days to make my wife smile and this is how they handle shipping????? Fill one order ,the smallest one ,the one I did second very late in the day ,haven't touched the 1st order and now the 3rd says held????? If my wife wasn't so excited and this brand were easier to get I would cancel it all ,but I can tell you it seems like there is some issue everytime we order from this company. I know we are all dealing with the Corona virus but other companies are having no trouble shipping their items. It's already going to take them better than a week to get the orders to us ,but now one is held. I did contact customer service she saw no problem with the order ,but gave NO explanation. Yes these are just markers, but making my sick wife smile is precious to me and having to worry about items even being shipped is an issue we dont need. I seriously doubt I do buisness with this company again. I had rather go back to merri artist and pay a little extra ,have my wife's supplies in less than a week (from further away) than have to keep checking in on a company.

Thank you for your orders, we do appreciate your business!
Just as your credit card company and bank have fraud prevention steps in place to protect you, we also employ fraud prevention software that automatically reviews orders for possible issues. Although it doesn’t happen often, sometimes a legitimate order is flagged for a possible issue. Once an order has been flagged, it is required to be held until it can be manually reviewed before it either can be released for further processing or canceled depending on the outcome of the review. Typically this process happens within the normal processing time of an order.
As you have mentioned, we are also seeing a dramatic increase in online orders with all of our retail store locations being closed due to the current situation. Because of this, we have added a message on the shipping page of checkout as well as on the order confirmations that we sent you to inform you that order processing may take up to an additional 2-3 business days. (Please keep in mind that business days do not include weekends and holidays.)
Our dedicated associates have been working extremely hard to get orders out the door as quickly as possible however, so we are happy to tell you that all of your orders from last week have been processed and shipped, and tracking indicates they are on track to be delivered on or before the estimated delivery date provided to you at checkout.
If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything please contact our customer service team directly at 1-800-723-2787 for fastest assistance, or email us [email protected].

Unclear shipping policies
I ordered a large amount of supplies on the 30th and paid for expedited shipping to have them for this week during quarantine. I have not received anything regarding the order except for the initial order confirmation. I should have received the materials yesterday or today, but after putting in my order number I see that everything is still unshipped. I totally understand if shipping is stalled or even cancelled during this time, but to not send out any emails or have on your website an explanation of shipping policy during covid is confusing. Why even give the option to pay extra for shipping if you are not going to receive the materials when you are paying for them to get to you faster.
