Delivered Dress in Wrong Colour
The initial visit to Davids Bridal was great, the receptionist was very welcoming and warm, and Danique was very friendly, happy and most importantly helpful. After trying a few dresses, we have finally found the one. The dress I tried on and liked was in Ivory colour, but I have said explicitly that I want my dress to be white, so the Danique has checked with the managers as well as the production whether it can be made in white, and was confirmed that it could indeed be done in white. All of this happened in September, and we were told that it would take a few months to make the dress. Fast forward few months later. Davids bridal has called and informed me that the dress was made and ready and delivered to the salon. I have booked the appointment for the fitting day which was two weeks after they informed me that it had been delivered to the Bham branch. My mother lives 200 miles away from Birmingham, and she had to plan the trip to go to the fitting with me which takes her hours to make the trip. We came to Davids Bridal 15 mins before the appointment and were made to wait for an hour and a half until someone came to see us. While waiting for the assistant we did not get any refreshments, and after asking for some water the assistant showed attitude and told us that there is a water machine and we need to help ourselves, which is appalling given the fact that we have already been in the salon for almost two hours. Now the fun part. The assistant brought the dress to the fitting area and to our surprise it was IN THE WRONG COLOUR. The dress that was delivered was in Ivory colour, and as mentioned earlier we have made a specific request for that dress to be made in WHITE. I thought they'd bring out the wrong dress - I was convinced and almost in tears waiting to see the dress. Turns out, no… They have checked the order that was placed on the system, and they found a note that it was in fact, ordered in white. Obviously we got really emotional as the amount spent on the dress is quite significant, and you would think that there would be a quality check/control during the process of making the dress, but clearly, there wasn’t. I have requested to see the store manager and asked her for a complaints or customer service department contact number so I could take this up with them directly, but was told that it could not be done, but instead offered an email address for the marketing department. What does the marketing department have to do with all of this? I am really not sure, but the manager sure did a good job being evasive. This was their solution: They have ordered a new dress, hopefully in the correct colour this time, and again it will take a few months to make. But the problem this time, that it will be delivered few weeks before the wedding and there is very little space for error, and the dress will still have to be altered, which again is going to take time. They have also offered £100 off the alteration, but not the actual wedding dress and said that there is nothing more that they can do in this situation. What was supposed to be a such a happy moment, all of a sudden became extremely stressful which is really unnecessary, because as most of you know the wedding plan itself is quite a handful on its own. This review will be updated once the "new" dress is delivered.
