My goal was to buy a prom dress, and that I did, with great difficulty. I went to my local David’s Bridal to try on some dresses a few months ago, and they were wonderful! They just didn’t have the size I needed, so I turned to David’s Bridal online. I had a Visa gift card for a certain amount of money, and I was going to pay the rest with my card. The rest ended up only being $6, and David’s Bridal online doesn’t let you use two different cards, for some weird reason. The catch was that I couldn’t get to my local shop to pay in-person because I don’t have a car. I tried everything to be able to pay for this dress- tried to see if I could put more money on my gift card, I asked if there was any more deals I could add on to drop the price down just six more dollars, called my local shop to see if I could give the cards over the phone, I even asked if my sister could come in to pay (because it was an online gift card that I could just send to her, she lives near that David’s Bridal, and she could just pay the extra $6 on her card) but they said no to all of it. I was baffled- I am a paying customer, and they wanted to make this extremely difficult for me. Anyways, my work around was getting that gift card mailed to me as an actual card that I could use for other expenses, and just used my money to pay for the dress after my next paycheck. So my next paycheck comes, I buy the dress (which came very fast!) but I go out onto my porch, and the dress was in a plastic David’s Bridal bag, A PLASTIC BAG and it had a bunch of rips in both layers of the plastic. Why would such an expensive dress come in such terrible packaging? Luckily the dress wasn’t ruined, but I took pictures just in case it was. And here’s the icing on the cake: they sent me the wrong size that they said was out of stock. I ordered an 8, they sent me a 10. Luckily, it ended up fitting perfectly, and I looked absolutely gorgeous! Until David’s Bridal online has a way to pay with more cards and has better packaging for such expensive merchandise, I will not be ordering from them again. I’m a very nice, happy person, and hate having to write reviews like this, but there was just too much that went wrong for me not to share.

If you are after an alteration, make sure you check prices before the appointment-apparently it is the customer's responsibility to find out if the shop has hiked up their prices! Whatever!!

Ordered my dress online and it came in the mail and I tried it on at home once or twice and about a month after I ordered it was my wedding and the day of my wedding the entire zipper broke off the dress because the dress was of bad quality I had to be stitched and hot glued into my dress about 30 minutes before my ceremony. I tried contacting David’s bridal to get a refund back on a dress that had to be cut off of me and they only wanted to give me about 15% refund which only came out to about $30 I tried to explain to them that I didn’t know that the dress was crap until the day of my wedding but they refused to give me any kind of refund that was worth my time! The person I spoke to was nice and I wasnt even expecting a full refund, but 15%?!?! Come on, if my mother and sister in law didn’t know how to sew I wouldn’t have been able to get married and would have probably have to marry in a tee shirt and yoga pants! Not happy with the dress and the customer service!

Let me start by saying: we went to the shop in Watford to buy bridesmaid dresses and we were very pleased! They had a great selection of dress styles and colours and both my bridesmaids found a dress they really liked despite being very different shapes and sizes! Our stylist Toni was incredibly helpful - she brought us lots of different dresses and kept a smile on her face even when my bridesmaids were being picky! She never rushed us to make a decision and made us feel so comfortable - she was fantastic! The dresses are reasonably priced and only take a couple of months to arrive so it all seemed too good to be true! They were even super helpful when I needed to return one bridesmaid dress (and this was during the week everything locked down in 2020). HOWEVER, fast forward a couple of years and we go back for alterations. The service was terrible. I don't normally leave negative reviews but... Through no fault of our own we were late to our alterations appointment. We phoned ahead to let them know and they were very unhelpful, adding stress at an already stressful time. They told us if we were more than 10 minutes late, they wouldn't see us. We were 11 minutes late and they were very rude when we got there. They informed us we would have to make another appointment (fair enough - you have a rule, there has to be a limit) but they went out of their way to be as difficult as possible about booking the next appointment. We went back for the rebooked appointment and they made us wait 10 minutes before someone deigned to show up and direct us to the back. Seems a little hypocritical that they can't stick to their own timings rules. The alterations lady was very quiet and didn't really tell us what we needed to do or direct us in any way. And the alterations themselves, cost the same as the dress in the first place. Of course, they only quote you the price after they've already pinned it and bagged it up so you are cornered into paying their extortionate prices. We went to the counter to pay and book the next appointment for the pick up and it took the young woman an exceptionally long time to understand that we were trying to book a 'pick up' appointment as she kept informing us that we couldn't have Fridays as alterations only happen on Mondays and Tuesdays. (But pick ups happen on Fridays!). Fast forward another couple of weeks. Finally come back to pick up the dresses. Again, we arrived on time and no-one showed up for 18 minutes past our appointment time. We were again directed to the back and shown into a room with our dresses but then the assistant disappeared without giving us any instructions whatsoever. My bridesmaids tried them on and one of the dresses fits great however the other has been altered to be far too tight despite not being that tight in the original alterations appointment. The assistant finally showed back up only to offer no solutions or actual assistance for this too tight dress and then disappeared again. We had had enough by this point so we just took our dresses and left. I have had to source a different seamstress for the too tight dress as there is no way I am trusting them with anything of mine again! The alterations they've done are shoddy, there's thread everywhere and they've made the fabric all puckered so it looks horrible and cheap. Only use this service if you're planning on buying and fitting elsewhere!! DO NOT use the alterations service!! They do not care about you once they have taken your money!

The Dresses were in terrible quality and condition for buying off the wrack with manager not willing to give more than 10% off for faults. We were prepared to take them as we needed dresses quickly. They had makeup stains on them, they were bobbled and they smelt. Very Disappointed in the overall service of management at the shop. Carla who took us for our appointment was amazing and really went out her way to help us!p

I've recently bought several dresses for my bridesmaids from David's Bridal. The dresses are good quality for the price. Unfortunately, however, I've had a couple of issues with David's throughout my process: 1. Once the addresses arrive in store, there's a £15 charge per address to forward the dresses to a different address. 1 day after I paid an additional £40 for some of the dresses to be forwarded and for one of my bridesmaids to change to a slightly more expensive dress, another bridesmaid went into the store and chose a dress that was £20 cheaper than her original one. Rather than being refunded the £20 or being allowed to put it towards the extra £40 of costs I've already paid, I was given a credit note which it's unlikely I'll be able to use. I was informed that this is down to system limitations rather than policy. 2. At the start of my process, after choosing the dresses I wanted in store and being reassured that they would arrive in time for the wedding, I booked an appointment to go back 2 days later with my bridesmaids for fitting. When I got to the follow up appointment, there was no record of the appointment being booked or of my details in the system. I was also told that actually there would be a several month lead time on the dresses, meaning we had to choose a totally new set of dresses on the spot.

David’s bridal has beautiful dresses but the people attending the brides are rude and try to rush brides through the process. When I went to get my dress there, I was attended by a younger girl that seemed to be more interested in getting more money through getting more customers than by selling a quality customer service. I would never recommend anyone to go here if they want to feel special. Overall horrible experience. If it wasn’t because I loved my dress, I would have given them a zero on this review.

I ordered my flower girl dresses from Davids Bridal in Birmingham. One came and I had to go and collect it or pay £15 delivery before the other (so an additional cost or journey). When the other arrived, it looked as though it had been screwed up and kicked around the floor. It was also too small despite the store measuring her and advising we purchase a dress aged 8 years, we ordered a 10 years as the one tried on was a 7 years and much too small. It was suggested i take the dress home and ask the flower girls mother what she thought of the size. i agreed to do this as long as they steamed the dress. I was handed the dress in a box and when we got it home, there was a dirty mark on the front from the steamer. I took the dress back and the shop offered to order another, at the right size. This dress arrived too late for our wedding, as it needed alterations and two days before wasn't enough time to get them done, so we ended up buying two new dresses at another store, off the peg and also new shoes as we had to change colour due to a lack of choice at short notice. I have been advised i am not entitled to a refund on the unworn dresses. thanks goodness I didn't buy my wedding dress from the store.
