DAVIDS BRIDAL HORROR STORY I had a great experience finding my dress but for alterations it’s a NIGHTMARE. It took me 3 times to pick up my dress. Let me explain. They measured me and said okay this date you can pick it up. I said okay. They call and said your dress ain’t done. It hasn’t even been touched. I was upset but I said okay. So we plan for a 2nd date. The 2nd time we are in portage to pick up my dress and they call an hour before my appt and say “the girl who does alterations has been out all week.” I said okay. I’m very angry at this point because you could of called me earlier in the day and told me that. So that was a waste of gas and I told the girl I need my dress before my July 30th. and she said we should have it done. At this point I’m so upset because this ain’t fair. I broke down. I cried. I was so sad. No one should have to feel this stress about their wedding dress. So here we go planning for a 3rd time. FINALLY I GOT MY DRESS. The alterations were not done right. There was a huge gap at the top of my dress. I was so upset I just took my dress and I’ll take my business else where. I talked to my maid of honor of how upset I was and she recommended a very nice lady. Deb did so good and and was reasonably priced. She fixed what David’s bridal couldn’t. Thank you. I visited in May and picked my wedding dress on my first trip there! The experience was magical. I visited again in Sept to have my alterations done which I had a phone call before hand to talk through. Based on the alterations they predicted it would cost £100-£200. When I went I paid £421!!! Then I went back end of Sept to try on the alterations, the dress had been so ripped and looked like it had been worn, mishandled and just ruined to be honest. I explained how upsetting it was and how it made me feel like I didn't even want it. A wedding dress is a once in a life time thing, I wanted it fresh and new... otherwise I would have got one second hand. Anyway they went away to try and cut away some of the netting that had ripped to 'tidy' it up, they came back to show me and we agreed if they did this, I'd see how it looked after. Having to go back for an additional trip to pick it up, I tried to explain to the alterations manager how it made me feel and I'm looking for another dress because of how this experience has made me feel. She said there is nothing they can do but she'd contact head office and call me back in a week. I've had nothing. I have also written to them, nothing. The automated email says I'd get a response in 24-48hours, it's been weeks now. Absolutely disappointed. Really would not recommend this place or the service.

After they took all of my measurements to have a dress “made” which was sent to them for me to then come back to the store again to pick up it was several sizes too big. Also definitely made in Sri Lanka as it’s written on the label. The bride picked up our dresses then posted them to us bc David’s bridal is cheap and doesn’t do it themselves. Bride of course doesn’t know they’ve ordered the wrong size and I don’t want to upset her as she was trying to be a lovely friend and buy our dresses, so I call and they insist that the size is right according to my bust which is not true bc it’s baggy on my boobies! Falls on my shoulders and comes four inches past my toes. It’s like a kid trying on an adults dress and their solution is that I pay more than the cost of the dress to have it altered. So scammy. The actual guy who measured me was great and kind. The company is just shameful.

Our experience which started off fine, ended appallingly..6 bridesmaids dresses ordered, great... Bridesmaids all measured up in the shop, great (Stratford, Westfield Branch). When the dresses arrived in after a few weeks wait, they were mostly the incorrect sizes!! eg how can you order in a size 22 for someone who is a size 16, the finish to the dresses were unacceptable, fraying, uneven stitches, also went to collect one of the dresses, it needed work, they said I could wait, I did..the dress was bought out, I took it home only to realise I was handed back another size dress, I mean how!?! when you are altering the dress i just came to collect, but found issues!! The whole experience, which should have been an exciting one, was so so stressful. I will not recommend David's Bridal to anyone...The dresses were a lovely design but the stitching, finish of each dress was shoddy, with like a couple weeks before the wedding as they screwed up. When dresses were eventually collected they were put in a plastic, what look like a carrier bag from the pound shop, after spending money for the dresses and playing for alterations, not professionalat all....You can imagine the stress and anxiety..despicable. I still believe that some form of compensation should be offered for all the stress caused during this experience.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I bought my dress from them and gave it in for alteration and never heard back! Closer to my wedding date, I kept calling but was told everyone was too busy to talk to me and that someone will eventually call back… no one did! In the end, I had to buy another dress from a different shop just a week before my wedding !!! They contacted me after 6 months to apologise for keeping my dress but refused to give me any compensation or a refund!

If you want your wedding dress ruined, by all means, let davids bridal touch it. If you want to feel belittled and unappreciated, go for it. Save your time, money, and sanity and go anywhere else! I was charged more than the price of my dress to have it ruined and made unwearable without hundreds of dollars of repairs from someone I could trust. I was blamed for their poor work and they had the audacity to try to get me to pay for further alterations through them. Then rushed me to sign to take my dress. Working on getting a refund which they keep fighting because THEY MAKE YOU PAY BEFORE THEY RUIN YOUR DRESS! Then they tell your bank that you authorized the payment. What a clever way to cover your tracks David's Bridal. Don't fall for it.

This is in reply to "Go Here For A Good Cry" in Novi, MI. I am the mother of the bride whose fiance wrote this review, I was with her when she picked out her wedding gown and at every fitting appointment. I have something else to add and that is either the fitters do not write clear instructions or the seamstress does not read them either way there is a lack of communication - call the client if there are any questions!! Her gown was supposed to have the sheer sleeve around the bicep instead it is straps going over her shoulders which is not what she wants - this was pointed out at both fittings. They offered to "fix it" but could they really be trusted to make it right as it was ready 9 days before her wedding? Choosing a wedding gown is one of the most special days in a girls life and this experience was extremely disappointing. Even though her gown is not the way she wanted it she is going to be a beautiful bride!!! It seems to me that businesses don't have the integrity they use to and nowadays expect a client to "just settle". You only get married the 1st time once and that experience should be very magical!!!

I was sold one of the most awful dresses I've ever tried on, didn't look anything like the picture. I tried to return it and they won't let me print a return label and there's no way to contact them. Also, they say on their website that if I don't return it within 3 days, I don't get a refund- I'd love to know how that's even possible if I had a return label. Disgusting.
