Tried to switch from Ernie Ball but strings did not even last for 1 rehearsal.. Broke two strings during the first hour of playing... Never again!... If you play feather light maybe they will last? The tone is good but they have no place on a workhorse! And the price to me is a joke.

Another awful experience with D'addario…
Another awful experience with D'addario UK. Terrible customer service on most occasions. This time, they have sent an item considerably different to what was advertised (a cable 50% longer than it should have been). All emails were ignored, until a PayPal claim was raised. My claim specifically requested confirmation of postage reimbursement (initial and return). This request was ignored. Their automated return approval expects me to pay to return the item, and presumably not receive my original postage charge either. I refuse to be over £10 out of pocket on a bad £29 purchase when it is entirely D'addario UK's fault.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback, and we are very sorry to hear that you had received cables that were longer than anticipated. Our team does reply to all messages we receive though. Unfortunately we were not able to look up your ticket without your name or order number, etc. We would like to look into this for you to see what had happened. Could you please contact us directly at www.daddario.com/contact-us so that we can investigate and assist further? Thank you!

Horrible customer service... where's my refund?
Horrible customer service! I bought a hat and it was flattened due too much packing on top of hat. They (Steve) sent another one that was flattened WORSE than the first one? There is no brim protector and hat came literally almost flat in the box. I said just give my money back and credit back my points and I will send back these 2 smashed hats. Is that being unreasonable? I have filled out 5 of these stupid return forms only to have them closed out without fixing the problem. I am totally being ignored by whoever this Steve guy is ??? I have left my phone number but he is hiding somewhere. Just give me a refund and my points and quit being a moron. You can have back your 2 smashed hats. I mean what is the problem there? I have been using Diaddario strings since 1978 and this idiot is going to cost you my future business over a hat. I get 2 damaged hats and I am stuck with that now? I don't think so... This company does not stand behind their customers anymore. Just read some of these complaints. Total B.S. So now I have to spend time trying to get through when no-one answers the phone or returns a message. Three phone calls and 8 emails overall.
Just read Their response... What a joke. That's what I have been asking for all along was to send back those crappy hats for a refund and THEY said no, lol. Now they say I can get a refund because of 2 bad reviews that I wrote. The hats ARE defective because the other one I have is PERFECT. The 2nd one and the resent one ARE NOT you moron. So at least admit that, lol. Why would I send back the one hat that is perfect? I can't believe you are reps for such a great company? Idiot response. I will still buy strings that I have used since 1978, but no longer any merch. I can buy that same hat on Ebay or Amazon and it would be perfect. I just wanted to use my points on a hat. Also, when you pack a hat you don't smash it in a box, dummy. It is protected by the box, duh. You pack around and inside the hat so it doesn't get crushed. You could have sent it in a plastic bag and had the same result and saved money on a box... Total snowflakes at Diaddario customer service. You should all be replaced.

Hi Gregg,
We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the hats, but the hat you ordered is an unstructured "dad hat" which does not have any structuring in the top portion of the hat (aside from the brim). We can see from the photos you sent that the brim was not damaged, and that the top of the hat (the unstructured part) was pushed inwards. These hats are not intended to hold a shape on top like a trucker hat or a snap back, as unstructured hats are intended to essentially hold shape when they are being worn - making it a more comfortable, malleable fit. Wearing the hat would resolve this, because the top of this particular hat is just fabric (it does not have any additional structuring or lining, as intended with dad hats).
I do see that our support agent had sent you an additional hat for free, plus another hat that was a different type (that one was a structured, mid-profile hat, which is why it held a specific shape - as structured hats are intended to). While the hats that you received were not defective, if you would prefer to send all three back to us we would be happy to refund you for the one that you paid for. Please feel free to contact our support team at www.daddario.com/contact-us and we would be more than happy to help with that. Thanks!

WOW in response
WOW, thanks to Post Office I got my shipment due to their hard work. NOTE: D'Ad didn't reply here or personally since I have account with them. Thanks for nothing D'A

Hi Anthony,
We're very sorry for any inconvenience, but as mentioned by our agents we are unable to update the shipping address on an order once it ships out as the package is no longer in our possession or our control at that point. We only ship orders to the shipping address entered upon checkout. For the future, we do recommend double checking auto fill to make sure that the proper street address is entered when placing your order. We are glad to hear that USPS was able to catch your package for you and update the shipping address!
Thanks for your understanding.

Ordered strings on the 15th April
Ordered strings on the 15th April, it’s now 4th May, they still say ‘preparing for shipping’ like, what company in the world thinks this is acceptable. I thought I’d try these strings instead of EB strings but I will never use these ever again just because shipping is crazy slow. I could have ordered them on Amazon and gotten next day shipping but through their website is useless. Never again

Hey Jenny, we are sorry to hear that you had experienced an issue with your order! Did you contact our team already? We were not able to locate an order or a ticket under your name. Please note though- if you had ordered custom strings, those have a longer lead time than regular stock, as those are made to order here in our United States factories, and then sent to our UK Warehouse for fulfillment. Please contact our order support team at www.daddario.com/contact-us, as we are always happy to help. Thank you!

The new way of signing in to register…
The new way of signing in to register our string bags that is SUPPOSE to make things better for us is RIDICULOUS. I've been doing this for years and NEVER had a problem before. Put it back to the original way.

Evans EQ3 Reso Black (BD22RB) with port
As a long‑time musician and loyal Evans customer, I never expected to write a review like this, but I believe other drummers deserve to know what is happening with the current EQ3 Reso Black heads.
I recently purchased an Evans EQ3 Reso Black (BD22RB), a model that does not come with a factory‑cut port. To my surprise, the head arrived with a port hole already cut, and the edge of the hole did not resemble the clean, heat‑sealed CNC finish that Evans has always been known for. Instead, the edge looked:
cold and unsealed
slightly irregular
clearly hand‑cut
with visible adhesive around the reinforcement ring
At first I thought it might be a one‑off issue, but I ordered a second brand‑new head from Thomann and it arrived exactly the same. This makes it clear that this is not an isolated case, but a change in the manufacturing process that Evans has not communicated.
What disappointed me the most was not the product itself, but the response I received from Evans’ Facebook support. Despite providing photos and the exact model number, I was told the head was “within factory specifications,” which simply does not match the physical evidence. As a loyal Evans user, this made me feel dismissed rather than heard.
I am not writing this to create drama. I am writing it because the quality of the port finish on these heads is no longer what it used to be, and other musicians should be aware of this before purchasing.
I truly hope Evans provides a transparent explanation, because many of us have trusted their products for years and expect the same level of quality and respect in return.
Response from D'Addario & Company, Inc.Apr 23, 2026
Thank you for your feedback! We are sorry for any confusion, but this head (BD22RB) does indeed come with a factory-cut port. If you are looking for the version with no port, that would be item number BD22RB-NP (with the NP standing for No Port)!
To help clarify a bit, we do not heat-seal our mic ports, nor do we CNC the mic ports. The ports are cut using a die and a hydraulic press, which has been the process we have used for decades! Based on the photos that you had provided, the adhesive was within spec, as it is not intended to be visible by anybody looking at the head from the audience's perspective (in other words, it is not visible from the outside of the head). Most ported bass drum resonant heads will feature the same type of port reinforcement.
Our manufacturing process has not changed regarding bass drumheads or mic ports. The photos that were provided were in line with what is expected from our heads, and a defect was not able to be identified. If you need a head without the port, please be sure to order an -NP version!
Thanks so much!

Bad quality
Bought a ‘best-selling capo’ from this brand, but it stopped working and snapped in half within 24 hours.
