I have been trying to call my local cvs pharmacy, I answered scores of automated questions, waited ten minutes on hold, then was directed to a call center where the person had no idea where I was or what I was calling about. What a huge waste of time, as is shopping at CVS. Thanks but no thanks.

My husband was taken to the ER and diagnosed with a blood clot. He was prescribed a blood thinner and it was sent directly to the CVS on 6301 Eldorado Pkwy Mckinney Texas. When I arrived at CVS I was told I needed a pre authorization in order to get the drug. I explained it was a life and death situation. The pharmacist told me she would give me the drug for a payment of $800+ . The other option was to wait for insurance approval which would probably be a week later. This was on a Saturday. The pharmacist would not give me the pills to get through the weekend. I consider pharmacist healthcare providers. She had no interest in my husband’s health. She only wanted the $800. In my opinion this was very unprofessional, uncaring and this could have had a very tragic ending due to this pharmacist’s lack of empathy.

Getting tired of the empty shelves & long wait lines at the Pharmacy. Going back to Walmart. Ample stock and less wait time in line.

CVS in Villa Rica GA has turned into a zoo of pharmacy staff that are very rude, slow and very unprofessional. I have moved (or tried to) my prescriptions to another small independent pharmacy but they can’t even get them to pick up—the pharmacist at the new pharmacy said they put you on hold and then hang up on you. This is pharmacy to pharmacy. Not a customer calling the pharmacy. The experience and prior ones have made me no longer do business with any CVS. And the long, wasteful paper receipts make me want to scream.

Cvs is absolutely the worst pharmacy to have as a patient and the worst pharmacy to work for as a career. This is just 1 tiny example of my experience but this is very much similar to 98% of my experiences at CVS. I got a letter from my insurance company saying my medication was approved. I spent 20 mins waiting for the pharmacy to pick up just for them to tell me that they can’t get a paid claim. I even asked specifically if they ran it for the correct quantity, days supply and for todays date (it was approved 4 days ago, so it should go through with no problem). The pharmacist/tech said it keeps getting rejected. So she advised I have my insurance call them on a conference call. So I called my insurance who said the medication is indeed approved. The rep called CVS and waited 30 minutes for someone to pick up. Then, when someone finally picked up, they still couldn’t get the claim to go through. So the insurance rep contacted their own pharmacy department to run a test claim just to see if it will go through and it did! She stated CVS was running it for the incorrect quantity!! This medication is a prepackaged item and needs to be entered as the size of the box in milliliters which is of course pharmacy 101. So she called CVS back and waited for another 20 minutes for someone to pick up just to run the claim again with the correct quantity. Then, of course they have to order this medicine. So this 55 minute conversation could’ve been 20 mins. Of course it’s okay if pharmacy employees are incompetent, but if there were enough employees then phone calls would be answered quicker and problems would be solved quicker. Just a bad company overall. They’re so focused on moving forward and becoming more “healthcare” based, they don’t even budget for hiring the right amount of hands on deck to do all of this. And this is partially because CVS has such a bad reputation to work for that no one even thinks about applying for a job there. I spoke to many new pharmacy graduates and most of them will say something like “heck no, I am never working for CVS even if it’s the end of the world”

This could be the WORST retail chain in the history of retail chains. I have NO idea how CVS continues to operate. Unfortunately being the largest chain of pharmacy stores - most people need to use CVS as a place to pick up their scripts. I have visited many locations (because of need) and not one are run well. The stores are dirty and most of the team members seem miserable. Oddly this is a company that bought Aetna (a health care company) - how can a store that can't operate an effective retail shop provide health care!!! This particular store is the MOST horrible store of horrible CVS stores. I think the staff actually hate customers and go out of their way to be rude. I know times are challenging but most people visiting the pharmacy are sick and to be treated rudely on top of that isn't nice. Epic

I went to CVS for a Covid PCR test. Just scheduling it was a nightmare, then I arrive to find it is a do-it-yourself test, and that they cannot send the results to the hospital where I need them sent. I feel the whole business was highly unprofessional. To add insult to injury, I have to set up a “my chart” account to get results. I recently tested in Greece-highly professional and seamlessly done. Perhaps CVS needs lessons.
