Crappy cuatomer service
When you call for customer service you end up in another country with people that don’t understand medical terminology. I see why they get crap reviews. Nothing will change until it starts losing them money.

This pharmacy use to be good great even but somehow they've fallen off the wagon they've dropped the ball, starting with customer service you cant talk to someone live when you call and the automated service picks up it is a nightmare to get any of your prescriptions filled seems like its a maze just to get that doneord forbid that you wanna talk to someone, 2ndly they have started pushing for the last literal day to get your prescriptions and that presents a problem for so many who cant physically wait for their medecine to lapse, I miss the days when you could walk in and talk to someone instead of having to type you info on a tablet and hope someone will notice and come give you customer service, its like they want to push themselfs as far away as they can from their customers even though their paycheck depends on us not that taking our business elsewhere, and I guess what really did it this time is the fact i waited in line for 15 miss with only one car infront of me and when they finally moved forward to leave and I pulled up they literally closed the window on me and rolled this white metal gate not even saying anything to us just closed it I mean I wouldn't have had a problem with them telling me they were closing for lunch but instead they closed the metal gate/barrier and allowed the automated vice to tell me they were closed for lunch, like if you dont want our business and to deal with us face to face then close your doors and leave our community we rather have someone that does what to friendly and wants to create great customer relationships its that simple.

I am completely done with this location and will be moving all of my prescriptions to a different pharmacy after today. I arrived at the pharmacy department at 3:23 PM, and the experience was awful from start to finish. First, there was absolutely nobody at the counter to explain the new computer registration and pickup procedure they’ve implemented. Four of us were just standing there waiting in line. Finally, a young man came to the desk and told us we had to register on the screen. Even though I finished registering first and was at the front of the line, the employee ignored me and took care of the people behind me first. I don't know if he skipped over me because I am a man and he wanted to assist the women first, or if it was because I am Latino, but keeping me waiting after I was first in line was incredibly unprofessional. When he finally decided to assist me, he brought out three medications. Because my doctor had just changed my prescriptions today (discontinuing one and adding a new one for my prostate), I was confused and simply asked him to clarify which medication was which. Instead of helping, he gave me a terrible attitude and snapped, "It is on your insurance." I had to explain to him again that I just needed to know what the pills were actually for since my regimen changed. He didn't even know the answer. He had to go ask another pharmacist, and when he returned, he literally threw the medications down at me with a horrible attitude. I don't know if this is a generational issue or just a total lack of basic training, but the disrespect and lack of knowledge were unacceptable. I have consistently had issues with the pharmacy staff at this Edgewater location, but this was the final straw.

Am filing this complaint because the level of inconsistency at CVS 10970 /305 E 86th St is deeply concerning- probably potentially harmful to customers/patients*. To be clear: the front store staff is excellent, courteous, & helpful. =My concerns are specifically with the pharmacy ops and mgmnt. Over an extended period: repeated inconsistencies involving communication, pickup info , responsiveness, & general professionalism. The issue is not one isolated mistake; it is a pattern of contradictory info & unreliable handling that has become increasingly troubling over the past 3 years. At times, phone calls go unanswered for extremely long periods. Most recently, I remained on hold for 45 minutes (to no avail) simply trying to arrange a prescription pickup while the phone continued ringing w/out response. On more than one occasion, have felt forced to physically go to the store simply to obtain clarity after being unable to reach anyone by phone. Have also observed what appears to be a decline in training, professionalism, communication standards, & operational oversight within the pharmacy. Whatever the underlying cause, the result is a level of inconsistency that is inappropriate for a pharmacy environment where accuracy, reliability, & clear communication directly affect people’s health & wellbeing. *What is most alarming is not merely inconvenience, but the potential consequences of this kind of inconsistency for customers who are less persistent, elderly, injured, disabled, medically vulnerable, or simply trusting that the info they are being given is correct. A pharmacy is not an ordinary retail setting.Customers should not have to navigate contradictory info, unanswered phones, inconsistent procedures, or apparent lack of staff coordination simply to obtain meds or basic answers. I have solid documentation regarding these experiences & concerns. Hoping CVS corp mgmnt takes conducts an honest review of the pharmacy ops at this location.

As a pharmacist for 30 years, I am writing this review from the perspective of a patient. I find the new system which does not allow you to speak with a member of the pharmacy staff to be very inefficient. You can only leave a message. And if someone calls you back asking for you to call them back, you still cannot get a live person and must leave a message. I will be transferring my prescriptions (7 which I fill monthly from my local CVS in Boston along with some which I fill in Peterborough, NH). This new system prevents direct access to pharmacy staff, which in my opinion, interferes with patient care. This can interfere with safe medication use and poses a risk to patient safety. I will be filing complaints with both the NH and MA boards of pharmacy. I will also encourage my communities to utilize other pharmacies within the area.

If I could give zero stars, I would! You can never get anyone to answer the phone and when they do the customer service is horrible. I was getting text messages everyday to pick up my prescription. I called left a message and they called me back. I explained I had another prescription in process and would like to grab them both today. I went to pick them up, and they had already pulled my other one and used it for someone else: said I can come back next week to grab it. What??? So now I have to make another trip which is what I called to avoid—- nobody put a note in my account. This is not the only time they have dropped the ball with me… if I could drop them I would, but sadly my insurance company makes us use them: Do better CVS….

The phone prescription refill system is very inefficient and inaccurate. It will tell you prescriptions are eligible for refill. You order them arrive at the store and they are not available and I'm told that they need to be called into the doctor. The online pharmacy that they text you a link to is equally as bad and inaccurate.
