Twice they shorted me 5 pills on a subscription at the 4100 Gravois store in St. Louis. I now have to count every pill for every script. Customer service is horrible and on the verge of rudeness. They don't open until 10am... Seriously, they open at 10am which is very inconvenient. Walgreens is bad but CVS is horrible. I'm switching to mail order at this point.

Id give no stars if I could. Over the last 2 years we have seen CVS go downhill consistently. Tech issues, staffing issues and Caremark changing medication ordering so that availability is worse not just due to shortages but also due to them ordering less costly versions resulting in people not obtaining medications in a timely manner or at all. We show up to fill meds and something is always messed up or missing. This is to the point that despite CVS being our Insurances preferred Pharmacy we will be finally after 10 years be shopping for a new pharmacy. We give up. The staffing issues and everything else have finally become too much.

We've relied on our local CVS pharmacy for decades, but our recent experience got us to thinking of switching to a competitor. The computer systems at headquarters went down and made it impossible for me to get my prescription med. First of all, I received no notice from CVS that there was no point in going to pick up my meds because the pharmacy employees wouldn't be able to find them -- even though they were only a few feet away, in full view. There should have been a text sent out to all pharmacy customers informing them of the problem so they wouldn't make the trips in vain and telling them they would receive a text when the problem was solved. Then, a text should have gone out giving the green light so customers could know when their meds were accessible. I was lucky I called first rather than just gone by as usual to get them. I shudder to think of all the customers who drove there and then couldn't get their meds, even though they could see the bags in the baskets just a few feet away! Secondly, the system by which filled prescriptions are apparently held in baskets until they are picked up is by the Rx number rather than alphabetically by the customers' names, so employees couldn't get the Rx number because computers were down and thus couldn't find the meds. These are mistakes that should not have happened! There should be a way to have the meds accessible for the customers even if all the computers go down. If this happens again, we're leaving CVS.

CVS Pharmacy, 2042 Rankin Mill Road, Greensboro, NC. Complaints… extended waits in line to get prescriptions; when the pharmacy has difficulty or problems with a prescription the onus is placed back on the patient to straighten out the issue, including calling the prescribing physician to sort out problems with the script itself. How many lay people can navigate this? Most customers don’t speak any medical jargon or understand what to do in a case like this. While standing in one of those long lines, I watched just such an event play out, and it became the patient’s problem to figure out the problem with the prescription written by the doctor and try to communicate to the doctor what needed to be done. The quote I recall from the pharmacy staff was along the lines of “Well, this is what the doctor wrote and we can’t do that”. It seems more logical that when there is a problem with a prescription as written and it can’t be filled without a conversation with the MD, the pharmacist of delegated staff have the expertise to sort it … not the patient. The automated answering system is very confusing and difficult to navigate. One must figure out the proper verbal prompts along the way, and this was really quite. I just spent 30 minutes trying to get through this system to reach a pharmacy staff member to ask about a problem with a prescription currently being refilled (which should not have been refilled in the first place, as it was only ordered for one week’s duration following a surgical procedure, was not on auto fill, and we had not requested the refill. We were kindly notified by the prescribing doctor that she was notified that insurance would not cover the refill, and she was actually facilitating the information chain. Meanwhile, the pharmacy had notified us that the medication was ready for pickup. These are just a few of my experiences in this pharmacy which I have experienced in a relatively short period of 4 months. Because of these and others, I have moved my personal prescription needs to another chain’s store, which is actually a greater distance from my home.

very bad service, prescriptions are hardly ever filled in a timely manner and have had many instances of going without prescriptions because they just don't fill them because they are not in stock and can't get them or just ignore them. one pharmacist actually decided not to fill my husbands prescription because he had already had an antibiotic for his eye but an eye specialist wanted him on stronger antibiotics from a foreign object that was removed from his cornea and the pharmacist just wouldn't fill it or bother clarifying with the doctor or even us, she decided her opinion was more than the physicians. In the meantime he went 24 hours without his treatment for his eye. I have called so many times and have been put on hold for a half hour to 45 minutes and this last time I was on hold for an hour. When I said I was on hold for an hour she rudely said we are short staffed which is their short answer for everything. They have a huge turn around in staff as well and they are not people I would consider appropriate to deal with costumers. There are good people that work there but the ones I was used to seeing on a regular basis are leaving or have already left their employment there. I have waited in line and listened to other costumers with complaints and watched them being treated very badly. Hopefully they will make a review themselves. I did call their costumer complaint department and the woman I spoke to was kind and apologetic and assured me they would look into what is happening at this location. However after reading others complaints I can see this is not true to just one location. I would recommend going to a locally owned pharmacy and support their business because this one is not worthy of yours. If I could have left no star I would have.
