A moving blanket offered more protection …

I ordered a cover designed for the most protection when I got a brand new car. At the first sign of hail, I ran out and covered the car expecting it would be safe from pea size hail. It was not, my neighbor who threw a moving blanket over his car had zero damage while mine had dents on the roof, side and top. After looking closer at the cover, it was incredibly thin. I reached out to the company since I was convinced they sent me the wrong one since what I had clearly was not seven layers of protection. They informed me I had gotten the right one and they would not provide a refund since it was after 30 days. Clearly, I am at fault since I had not planned for hail within 30 days of purchasing my car cover. So because of this hail cover, I got the opportunity to drop over $600 on both the cover and my car insurance deductible to fix the damage it did not protect from.

Caroline, we’re sorry your vehicle was damaged, but there are a few important points missing from this review. We confirmed that you received the correct WeatherFit Platinum cover. Its seven layers are industrially pressed together, so they do not appear as seven separate sheets. A moving blanket is much thicker because it is designed for cushioning, not outdoor vehicle protection. A car cover made from material that heavy would be bulky, difficult to install and store, less breathable, and prone to holding water. Hail conditions can also vary significantly, so a comparison between two vehicles does not establish that the cover was defective. Tens of thousands of customers use these covers for hail and severe-weather protection. When you contacted us, the order was well outside our 30-day return period and had already been used, so our team correctly followed our established return policy.
