Took my Truck to Cottman to get the trans checked. Needed a rebuild. Don, Greg and the guys did a great job and kept me informed of what was going on. I liked their work so much I took my truck back a week later to do wheel bearings and tire rotation. These guys have become my new go to shop. Can't say enough about their work and more over their integrity.

I had heard a squealing sound under my hood for the last several weeks when I accelerated. Since I have been so busy moving into my new house in Louisville, I ignored the sound against my better judgement. I have also moved away from my long time mechanic shop in Indiana. I normally would have stopped by to get advice from them about the noise. So as what often happens when you ignore something, it finds a way to get your attention. Last Friday my car got my attention by making me pull off I-64 at 6:20 AM and call AAA on my way into work. I didn’t know any place over here to take my car to so I took the recommendation from my tow truck driver to take my car to Cottman. So last Friday morning, I was at work, and my car was in the shop. I was not sure if I had just cooked the engine or not. The temperature gauge was buried on hot, the battery light was on, and the engine light was on when I was forced to pull over and shut my car down. There was some visible fluid loss and the serpentine belt was loose. I was extremely relieved when Greg called me at work and told me that there was no major damage done to my car. The part that turns the belt had seized up and needed to be replaced along with a new belt. So for around $300 I was able to get my car repaired and back to me by noon the next day. I know sometimes people pray to have safe travels when on a trip. I think that getting the driver that came from AAA, and ending up at Cottman was an answered prayer for me. I am thankful for how they took care of my car and treated me fairly. It might have been a rough trip getting to them, but I feel like I have found an auto shop in Louisville that does good work and is honest. It doesn’t get any better than that.

I took my car in for a timing chain/belt issue i dropped the car off on a Sunday and expected to be without the vehicle for 3 days 1 day for parts which were supposed be overnight-ed which we paid extra $45 for shipping. That was a Tuesday early morning they were given approval for the overnight and estimate to go ahead with the work. I didn't hear anything on Wednesday so I called the shop on Thursday, only to be told the parts had not come in yet. They should have been there Wed so the rep didn't say anything else, so i ventured to say don't you think you should find out we paid for overnight delivery. No offer to do anything over the minimum. They got the parts in on Friday finished on Saturday. I had also asked to have the transmission service at least 4 times and they still did not have that done when i called on Saturday the engine sounds worse now than it did before like it is now running on 5 not six cylinders. I complained about the shipping costs and the lack of response on the transmission service. Supposedly they did do the tranny service at no charge and refunded my overnight shipping costs. Two issues 1 i had to keep a rental car an extra 3 days than expected so the $100 they took off my total did not come close to matching the extra money for the rental car which totaled just shy of $500 twice what i expected and the car still doesn't run right. I will not recommend or go back to this shop again. .

I've been going to Cottman for many years now, seriously don't go anywhere else. Finding people to take care of your vehicles who are trustworthy is incredibly hard, and there's nobody I trust more than Cottman. Seriously, you have no reason to go anywhere else.

This is the only place I trust to work in my car

My wife and I are very pleased with our experience at Cottman and will return and recommend them to our friends. Instead of just replacing major components and calling it fixed, they found our problem and fixed it. Some folks call that old school. I call it knowledable, reputable service. They smile a lot too!!
