My homebuying process with NACA has been a learning experience. I now understand a lot of things better and changing things around while I'm going through the process. My counselor has been helpful, and I can't wait for the day when I'll receive the key to my future home.

I’ve just started the homebuying process with NACA, and so far the experience has been incredibly encouraging. The orientation was informative, and the staff has been responsive, respectful, and genuinely supportive. It feels good to be working with an organization that’s truly focused on helping people, not profits. I’m excited to continue the journey and hopeful for what’s ahead!

Naca is a great program for first time home buyers. Naca helps you prepare the documents needed for a home purchase and assist with organization and financial monitoring. The mortgage counselor, Ms. Ellen Petersen is very informative and knowledgeable of the home buying process. She is professional, kind and accessible. Iḿ hoppy to have been paired with her to help guide me through the home purchasing process.

No down payment, no closing cost. The process can be long and tedious, but it’s worth it. Thanks to my counselor Ellen for being patient, and explaining the process in a professional manner.

Id like to start by saying Ellen Petersen is so helpful. She made me more excited than ever. She was very helpful through out the entire process. Even though I am at the tail end of my process, she is very efficient & responds to all your questions. I am very excited to be a home owner.

So far, my experience with the NACA mortgage program has been positive. Our agent has been fantastic—very responsive and helpful throughout the process. While the list of required documents is extensive, it's manageable with good communication. Initially, categorizing three months of expenses felt overwhelming, but once we learned it only applied to checking and savings accounts (not credit cards), it became much more straightforward. Looking forward to continuing the journey with NACA. Update 6/18/25 NACA Update! We’ve officially found a house and are now in our 30-day escrow! The process is definitely not for the faint of heart — be prepared for a laundry list of documents to send in and lots of emails flying back and forth between NACA, your realtor, and the title company. That said, we feel very fortunate. Our NACA counselor knows the program inside and out and has been incredibly helpful at every step. Plus, we have a realtor who’s been willing to learn and adapt right along with us, which has made a huge difference.
