ComodoReviews of comodo.com

Domain Validation is extremely hard to follow. Tested Mail and CNAME Validation. None of them works. Support is unresponsive. Website and management interface seems to be from 1992. Requested a refund and will never oder again

I purchased a code signing certificate through a 3rd party re-seller and have been stuck in verification hell for the past 2 weeks. They make you jump through endless hoops and at the end of the day it just seems like they are trying to see how much crap you will put up with. They refused a notarized phone bill purely because it was a family plan - my name was on the bill, but I wasn't the account owner which apparently was not good enough. They eventually asked me to register with Dun & Bradstreet which can take up to 30 days to process (Unless you shell out ~$200 for a rush fee). I'm just going to cancel my order and go elsewhere, I'd be willing to pay more for a cert if it means I don't have to navigate a minefield.

Very unprofessional and total amateurs to boot. You do not want to trust your PCI security to this bunch of hacks. Also be prepared for having your questions ingnored and your time wasted. Total con-job company.

Their tech team in India are some of the most horrible con artists I ever encountered as they strung me along for almost 24 hours while experimenting with my computer, eventually, they wiped out all my files, photos etc and then they tried to justify it with the lamest idiotic excuses I have heard. Never ever trust someone from Comodo! The next time I hear someone from Comodo say "trust me, I will make your computer run like it is new" I will puke.

Grossly inefficient validation process. And Rude staff. Especially chat staff.

Happened to read this testimonial written by a company CEO. He says that it was the Comodo Endpoint Protection tool that had protected them from ransomware attacks a couple of times. It was after reading this testimonial that I surfed the internet to know more about Comodo endpoint protection and ransomware prevention. Had also come across a piece written by Comodo CEO about how their product can successfully be used to fight and block WannaCry ransomware. Interesting indeed! Hats off to the company and to the developers of such wonderful products.

I am the Certificate Requester, (Me) (+44 0000001). The Certificate Approver and Contract Signer (Client) has already validated with verification number xyz. I'm informed that you refuse to call my number to verify because it is different to the Certificate Approver and Contract Signer? I do not understand as I have purchased many EV certificates this way previously. In fact, the order from last year (Order #abc) clearly shows my contact details being different to the Approver and Signer. Me: I need this certificate issued ASAP please Peterson: Please wait, let me check (10 minute pause) Peterson: Is this your order number #xyz ? Me: Yes Me: I sent the documents yesterday at 15:18 BST to evdocs (at) comodo.com Peterson: ok one moment. (20 minute pause) Me: You will see that (Client) has signed the subscriber agreement and that my phone number is +44 0000001 Me: And that (Client) has also verified with the verification number you provided (20 minute pause) Me: Hello? Peterson: one moment. (30 minute pause) Me: . Peterson: But we can call only to the verified number #abc Peterson: , is (Client) will be available on that number ? Me: You've already called (Client) on that number, you was provided with the verification code above Me: Feel free to call again, but my phone number is still +44 0000001 Me: As it states on the subscriber agreement Me: that the client signed Me: You can check with (the client) that is my phone number, if that helps? Peterson: Let me transfer to my colleague, he/she will assist you regarding this. Please wait while I transfer the chat to 'Tina'. You are now chatting with 'Tina' Me: Perhaps you can help? Me: Comodo seem to be making this process as slow and painful as possible Tina: Please hold on. (30 minute pause) (I'm yet to find out if this will be resolved). Comodo seem to assume that companies only ever have one phone number and one person at the end of said phone who is responsible for SSL certificates. If you are an agency/supplier trying to arrange one for a company with a size greater than one employee, you should expect to be wound up like a clock spring at the immense ineptitude displayed at every opportunity. Worse is if they insist on an automated call and the company in question has an automated phone system to direct calls. Thankfully, that's not at all common.

I was a client of Comodo for years. Recently they changed procedure of verification requiring that company is listed at D&B database with phone number to use for verification. But the procedure of listing at D&B takes up to 30 business days! Why they dodn't notify their clients about it in proper time? I'm sure Comodo has database of customers with information about when certificate expires. The only explanation is they don't care about their clients! It's a good reason to switch to more friendly company.
