I provided an alternate email to this service and I cancelled it via one email, but they continued charging me, and only sending statements to the alternate email. They refused to give my money back, even though I used their service a handful of times during one month, 11 months ago. I politely asked for my money back, and was given back $29, “as a courtesy”. These people can obviously see how many times I used their service, and I didn’t use any of it for those ten months. And they charged me without cause, as I had cancelled my membership. Use any other AI service honestly.

The punctuation for a transcription is the best, and it uploads quickly. Unfortunately, sentences are missed out (for no reason, not during crosstalk etc.) which is why I cannot switch unfortunately - have tried before so was seeing if that has improved. It hasn't and becomes frustrating after a while.

I used Otter.ai previously and was happy enough to have close to 60% accuracy for Malaysian English transcripts. It was okay but not very clean. I had to spend up to 30 minutes sometimes to clean up a 30 minutes audio. However, switching to Cockatoo has been such a game changer! I am surprised nobody told me about them so here's me telling the world about them. Their accuracy in the transcription (and speed!) is unparalleled, I love how it can catch even the proper nouns (!!) and removing unnecessary repetitions and stutters and just makes the transcript almost 95% accurate I would say. It makes research work such a breeze!

I was persistent about my query, and Cockatoo were equally persistent in helping me solve it, and solve it they did!

The company is failing to email for subscription renewals. This is not just my impression but other users mention it here in Trustpilot and other places across the internet. I realised today I am paying for their software for around 6 months without realising. I messaged their customer support and escalated the conversation since I saw this was a common practice, practically threatening with negative public reviews that would call this out. The founder got offended by my escalation but apparently the refund is not coming.

This company is untrustworthy. I was suddenly charged $179 with no notifications or communications from Cockatoo. I was not aware I was even on the annual plan. I never received any email correspondence indicating what plan I was on. The only way to contact customer service is by email; I have not yet received any response. This company is sketchy, I recommend taking your business somewhere else or only use their free services.

I recently tested the app from Cockatoo.com for both English and German, and I am thoroughly impressed. While I have experience with other apps for English transcription, the quality provided by Cockatoo.com, especially for German, is unparalleled. This is likely due to the new AI model they have implemented. The support staff is incredibly responsive, addressing my queries about the mobile app almost immediately. I highly recommend this app to anyone serious about transcription work. It is a professional tool that I use for my job, and it has never let me down. Thank you, Jordan.

The first year of subscription was excellent. I renewed the account, the charge went through, and on the first day it worked correctly. However, on the second day, it started demanding payment again and reverted to the basic plan. I have sent emails and have not received any responses. I have the payment receipts and the charge still appears on my account.
