My personal experience with Coastal…
My personal experience with Coastal Debt was extremely disturbing and financially damaging. Based on how I was treated and the results presented to me, I believe this company takes advantage of people who are already experiencing serious financial difficulties. I hired Coastal Debt because I was led to believe they would help reduce my debt and negotiate a better settlement with my lender. Instead, their office asked me to pay approximately $20,000 more than the amount I understood I owed the lender. I could not understand how hiring a debt-resolution company was supposed to help me when its proposed resolution would leave me paying substantially more. Communication was consistently unacceptable. When I called, I was frequently told that the appropriate person was unavailable, in a meeting, or otherwise unable to speak with me. Messages were not returned, and I struggled to obtain direct answers about my account and the proposed settlement. I escalated my concerns to Ms. Yeislee Flores, who represented to me that she was the highest-ranking supervisor and that no one was above her. She told me she would call me back, but based on my experience, the promised callbacks did not happen. When a customer is dealing with a major financial problem, it is unacceptable to repeatedly promise communication and then fail to follow through. I felt misled, ignored, and taken advantage of during a vulnerable financial situation. I personally question the company’s business practices and the value of the services provided to me. I strongly advise potential customers not to rely only on promises that their debts will be reduced. Before signing anything or paying this company, request a complete written breakdown of every fee, proposed settlement, and payment. Then contact the lender directly and compare the numbers. I have documentation concerning what I owed, what Coastal Debt proposed, my communications with the company, and the callbacks I was promised. This review reflects my personal experience and honest opinion. Based on that experience, I would never use Coastal Debt again, and I strongly recommend that consumers carefully investigate the company before trusting it with their money or financial future.
Response from Coastal Debt ResolveOct 22, 2026
We are sorry this former client is dissatisfied, but we respectfully disagree with the characterization of the services provided. The business signed written disclosures expressly acknowledging its heightened lien risk, the possibility of creditor litigation and enforcement, and that actual settlement amounts could be closer to the outstanding balances than preliminary estimates given the individualized factual situation of the enrolling business. Coastal worked the enrolled matters and facilitated legal-plan representation for an active creditor matter before the client elected to terminate the program. We respect client privacy and will address the remaining contractual issues privately.
