We sponsored a page on Clutch for a month and spent $500 with no return. It was very disappointing as their upfront promises were not our lived experience at all.
I wouldn't recommend sponsorship on their platform, a waste of money.

Hi Due North Team – Thanks for sharing this feedback. We understand your frustration – paying a monthly fee and not seeing return on the spend. Because of scenarios like this, we attempt to dissuade any company that does not have reviews but wants to pay for sponsorship.
Our sponsorship team had this conversation with your team when you expressed interest in sponsoring without reviews. We still stand by this recommendation and are happy to help you collect reviews and optimize the information in your profile as a first step. Please reach out to us at [email protected] to be connected with your account manager if you'd like guidance on collecting reviews.
Thanks,
Clutch Team

They promote actual scams - AVOID!
They promote and support businesses that are actual scams. The reviews on this website are not reliable at all.

They are extremely misleading in Australia
They are extremely misleading in Australia. Companies are added on their website without any permissions. I've tried to remove my business from their website and they wouldn't do it and I had to get a lawyer involved.
Companies/businesses who spend money with them receive few reviews and they make those companies look like 'The Best' in a particular field in a specific location which is not considered true.
I would suggest people doing some background research through Google and other search engines to find the right company that fits their needs. Its extremely easy to boost a small business and make them look like they are the best in the field without a proper portfolio.

Do not trust clucth.co
Do not trust clucth.co
I am running a small business in Scandinavia and I hired a webdesigner based on clutch.co reviews. This is this webdesigner on clutch: Here is this company information:
I thought clutch was US based and might be trusted! THIS WEBDESIGNER:, Rana Waqas, where he describe following:
We are a Pakistan based Web Design Company with a team of professional web developers/designers who have been in this business since 2006. We are based in Lahore, Pakistan but we have clients in all major countries in the world including UK, France, US, Canada, Kuwait, Japan, Dubai, Australia and KSA. Our job is to create an attractive website/interactive application that suits our clients needs. Whatever you expect from your website, we're here to give it shape.
We payed him a big amount in advance and he never delivered us website or anything! He was sending emails about my son has birthday, and now it is weekend, I'll deliver you tonight etc. He is a big FRAUD and capturing overseas client is his way by using platforms as Clutch and Google reviews. When I posted review on clucth, they never published it. I would never recommend to trust clucth! Clutch are supporting FRAUD! We have all the evidences against him. SOON WILL HE BE IN HIS RIGHT PLACE, JAIL

Don't Hire an Agency Based on Clutch.co Reviews
I am a small business owner. I used Clutch.co to find and hire a web development agency for a $50,000 custom website project. This was a huge investment for our company, so finding the right development partner was extremely important. I selected one of the "top-rated" web development agencies in the United States (according to Clutch.co). This particular agency had *only* 5-star reviews and according to the "verified" profile on the Clutch.co website, this agency was based in NYC. After reading the Clutch.co reviews, I felt optimistic that I could trust this particular web development agency. It seemed like they had a good track record. I relied heavily on the Clutch.co reviews to make my decision. Once I started the project, however, things fell apart quickly and it turned into a nightmare for my business. The people who "ran" the agency were brothers based in NYC. But all the developers were actually based in India. As soon as the project contract was signed, the two brothers basically disappeared and had me interact directly with the development team in India. I thought I was hiring a US team (according to Clutch.co), but I was not. The developers had very poor English skills and were not strong coders or designers. I constantly found errors in their work. Major errors. Features of the website would not work. Links, buttons, forms, etc. It was a disaster. I met with the development team every week, but due to the time zone differences we were meeting at 6am my time and 7pm their time. Due to the language barrier and the lack of leadership at the agency, these meetings were extremely unproductive. One of the agency founders (in NYC) had promised to attend these weekly meetings, but suddenly just stopped showing up even after repeated requests. Ultimately, the agency I hired through Clutch.com missed key deadlines by weeks or even months. The budget went way over. The code had a ton of errors. The agency owners failed to take any responsibility. Instead of apologizing, they became defensive and explained that they had other, more important clients. I felt like I had been conned and Clutch.co was part of the scam. I definitely felt like I had wasted $50,000 and hired the wrong agency. When I fired the agency for poor performance, I told them I was probably going to write a negative review (or possibly even sue them) because they had failed to meet their contractual obligations. I felt like they needed to know their would be consequences for their misconduct. I didn't want another business to waste money on a fake agency. When I mentioned that I would potentially write a bad review, the agency refused to hand over the website code. I had already paid every single invoice and the website code was my intellectual property. But they refused to hand it over. I had to get my lawyer involved. It was a nightmare. Eventually, I got the code from the Clutch.co agency after a lot of back-and-forth. I then had to hire another web development agency and pay an *additional* $25,000 just to have them clean up all the mistakes in the code made by the original agency (the one that was so highly endorsed by Clutch.co). In the end, I submitted a lengthy negative review to Clutch.co for this agency but they refused to post it on their website. In my opinion, Clutch.co is a scam. I would not use the information on their website to find or select a web development agency.

Hi Tavis – We’re sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had with the web development provider in 2018 and then with the review you hoped to post on Clutch. Complex web development projects are fraught with potential issues, so we believe reviews of both the positive and negative aspects of a web development project are valuable.
We work hard to represent both the service provider and buyer transparently on our platform. When you shared the email you sent to the service provider requesting a refund from the service provider in exchange for potentially not reviewing them negatively, however, this violated our Review Guidelines and the spirit of our review platform. Because of this, your review was not published.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] if we can help in any way going forward.

Clutch is a scam💩 who favour vendors
Clutch is a scam💩 who favour vendors! After having a negative experience with a company listed, namely DevTechNosys - who subsequently reported my review, by providing the report team at Clutch.Co with fake screen shots defaming me for extortion. Clutch.co accepted fake screenshots of skype conversations and removed my legitimate review without first consulting me.
