Poor communication with staff Christy. I was told by her that I would get an email with the adjusted plan to change a detail to the one closet. I did not. I was told by her she would cancel 1 of 2 projects. She did not. When the office called to schedule and give a final bill it was for both project. They said there was no note about cancelling one and would have to reach out to Christy. I was told that the 20% down payment from the cancelled project that was paid would not be applied to my other project. I was scheduled for install on 1/5/24 and promised they would be done by 5pm. They called several times pushing it back then stated it would not be done by 5 and needed to reschedule. I offered to let them start and then finish in the morning. They declined saying they were already full that day. I emptied my closet as instructed for them to install and now my room is a mess. The double closet is everywhere BUT inside the closet, and will be there for 5 days because that’s when they “have time”. I have had custom closets before from another company and did not have these problems. I have another other closet, garage, and a pantry to do and will be choosing another company. People should read all of the bad reviews on BBB before considering this company.

I had a "design expert" Nicki come out to my house and measure my closets, 3 bedroom 3 hallway. I was told she would be in touch with what she came up with. Days went by no call no email. I called the Pinellas Park store twice spoke to management verifying her being the designer. Both times I was told someone would get back to me. Still waiting. 3 months ??? Horrible, worst ever. This company should be ashamed. Especially that particular store. Too many other closet companies to choose from to even consider this one.

It is my opinion that the Birmingham Office of this company is terrible. They completed a poor project and not on time. Tried to charge my credit card before work had been completed. Sent a worker to my home that tried to intimidate my wife while I was away. There are other that perform the same capability at a better rate and are probably more trustworthy.

The entire process was awful. The 'designer' who came didn't know how to measure my closet, and didn't know how to design a solution. She promised more storage space, and I got far less. A week before install, they sent me a new design that had been created because there was a problem with the original design, according to the office. they were unable to fully explain the issue, and the drawings they sent me were so hard to read I had to guess at what was changing. I asked the customer service girl if I would still end up with more usable storage, if my outlets would still be accessible, if this would impact the functionality I had been promised, and she assured me that these minor changes were necessary to give me the functionality I wanted. So in the end, I don't know if the original design was poor, or if the updated design was at fault. Now that they're installed, the 'custom' closets don't fit my closet - the original designer measured wrong (instead of measuring the wall, she measured the front of the existing closet fixtures, so each wall lost about 12" square in the corners), so there are big gaps between closet fixtures. I lost hanging space, both vertically and horizontally. I lost shelving space too. They overcharged me for non-functional features (pull down bars that can't pull down because the designer mis-measured). And one of the door knobs is a different color than the rest. Closets By Design told me this was all my fault for signing off on the design. And they promised to send me a matching door knob, but never did. Zero customer service. Through all of these problems, their customer service people yelled at me on the phone multiple times. Please, find another closet service. Don't use Closets By Design. I paid $14K for a medium sized walk-in closet and now I need to have my new closet redone (by another company, of course) to make it functional.

Hope there was an option to give zero stars. Worst customer service. Basically, it is a fraud company. They are not all professionals when it comes to payment In case you have to hire them, never ever use your credit card for payment. They will charge you without your knowledge. They owe a $770 refund and trying to follow up with them for the last 6 months. No response so far. You can find similar reviews on facebook, google from many customers. I used Houston Tx based franchise. Initially, I thought it was an issue with this one franchise. Doesn't look like that. There are customers who had similar or worst issues in other states as well.

I purchased a house in New Braunfels TX at which the previous owner had recently installed master closet wall units by Closets by Design. The closets wall units had drawers at the bottom and shelves at the top, and met my needs, but I wanted to relocate the wall unit to another room. I hired a contractor to move the wall unit. He removed the 6 drawer boxes, and tried to move the remaining structure without supporting it, and the whole structure collapsed and was destroyed. All I had left were the 6 drawer boxes. I called Closets by Design and they found the original design specification for the units that they had installed at my house. I told them that I would like to hire them to re-install an identical wall system (same size, same color, same layout, same style), but that I would like to re-use the drawer boxes that I had, since they had been undamaged. They absolutely refused, saying I would have to buy all new drawer boxes. I argued that the drawers were THEIR product, were in new condition, and since I wanted an identical design, should fit without a problem. I spoke to both the Sales Manager and the Operational Manager, They were completely unwilling to accommodate my very reasonable request, instead trying to gouge me to re-buy unneeded drawers. Absolutely uncooperative, uncompromising and obstinate customer service.

Worst service and quality of product is worst. They never come on-time... Don't waste your time and money... Worst service... Its been more than 5 months and issues not yet got resolved.

Installer damaged home and closets. Emerald coast closets by design chose to argue when contacted over phone. When looked at pics on email said they’d fix but haven’t. Parts still missing. Falling apart. Months later still not fixed. I Had to hire a real installer for clients, it was my fault for recommending them. never seen such bad work or a company not care that they ruined a house and their closets. Cost them a lot to replace most of what CBD installed. CBD doesn’t care. Just want money then you’re stuck with it. Their fix is making cust do multiple apts try to fix something that either can’t be fixed or they’re not capable. I am sorry for ever recommending them. Won’t be anymore. Pictures don’t lie. Poor product. Poor install. Worst customer service. regretted dealing with owner Samantha. she is rude and if that is what you get from the owner. Stay away!! Wont get resolution from a company with an owner who responds defensively. Buyer beware...
