About Closer Pets

Hey, we're Closer Pets! And we’re here to keep you close to your pet, wherever life takes you. We’ve been proudly bringing pets and owners together for over three decades, under the Cat Mate, Dog Mate and Fish Mate brands. In 2021, we decided to take everything these brands stand for and bring them together under a fresh new name: Closer Pets. Our new name perfectly reflects our aim to offer a more personal experience and our commitment to becoming more digital and connected as a company – while supporting the longstanding trust the business has built over the last 30 years. From automatic pet feeders to smart cat flaps and flowing pet fountains, our smart pet products will help you care for your companions throughout the day. We’ve got big plans, and we can’t wait to take you and your pets along for the ride!

I needed seven cat feeders for our seven special-needs cats who each have different food requirements. The company worked with me to get these quickly and efficiently to my home in Canada. I am so grateful and excited to use the cat feeders for our little fur family.

Poor communication.
I received a prompt response to an emailed question about a problem I have with their product, but it didn’t address the question. Also, tracking information indicates that the item I ordered has not yet been shipped…five days after I received an email saying that it had been and two days after I would have received it if it had been. Overall I would say their communication style is like a quick puff of hot air.

Great Cat Feeder
The feeder I ordered is great for spacing out meals for a cat that needs to be fed every few hours. It is easy to setup. I'm just now ordering a new one after 5 or 6 years with the last one. Additionally, the shipping was exceptionally fast. I'm very satisfied and will definitely recommend Closer Pets to anyone needing an automated feeder.
