Trip went off without a hitch. Hotels were nice. Included lunches were not as good as some of the food we had in restaurants on our own. Tour guides were very helpful and spoke English well. It was a lot of trip for the money. Did not care for the factory tours... they were too time consuming and their goods were expensive. We did take a day and go down to a local market in Shanghai, and that was okay, but we were not there to buy.

Beijing was a fabulous experience as were the other cities. Shanghai had the worst food. Really noticed the difference in their attitudes. Didn’t care attitude compared to the start of the trip. Accommodation was good and our tour guides were great.

This was a great tour for the price. Our guide in Shanghai Qi was awesome!!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of all the places they took us to sell us tea, jade, pearl and silk. It was like a time share where we had to sit and listen to the presentation and then try to sell them to you and they were expensive. I'd rather that we went to the market to buy souvenirs. It was a waste of time. I came to China to see China and not all these factories.

Tour itself was good. Advance prep was lousy. Seemed like constantly shifting personnel dropping the ball. E.g., the pictures of our passports were lost. They were attached to an email with other attachments that were not lost. That apparently led to our visas being delayed until our departure week. That kind of stress makes a poor departure start. And it seemed that every time I called for information or updates, a new person was now the “responsible” party.

Tour was very well planned. The hotels were excellent, however a little bit far from central attractions. Tour guides were excellent and very helpful. I found the optional tours to be quite expensive for what the content of the tours included. Overall I would recommend Chinatour for the value and quality of their tours.

Our tour was 7 days in Japan and 4 in China. Our Japan experience was wonderful 5+ rating. Our guide was amazing and kept us engaged and informed. Our China part of the tour was horrible -0 stars. Our guide was rude, didn’t care about anyone on the tour. All he cared about was us giving him money and I am mot referring to his tip. It was a bad experience.
