I feel as if everyone has ordered from a different Certapet than I did. All of their reviews seem as though theymre fluffed with dishonest reviews from people who have never even used the website. Responses were NOT fast nor did anything seem “easy”. They asked a series of highly invasive questions followed by more work for you to do (i.e get a letter signed/filled out by your vet). All of these chores and extra surprises add a lot of time to their “2 day guarantee”. I feel that certapet is dishonest and all they want is your money. I have asked to be issued a refund..We’ll see how that goes as I imagine it will be like pulling teeth....

Certapet had me fill out the pre-screening questions. My result was that I was a good candidate for an ESA. So I paid my money and then filled out a highly invasive questionnaire. Once that was done, it went "for review" by one of their "medical professionals." That medical professional (a licensed social worker) then e-mailed me even more questions, some identical to those in the allegedly reviewed questionnaire. I answered the questions. Then I was told I would need to have a therapist as part of my "team" in order to get an ESA. Once I agreed to do that, I was then informed I would also need my primary care provider on board, as part of this team. What is the Certapet $150 fee for if I still need a therapist and general practitioner? Between those two medical professionals, I should be able to get an ESA certification. What exactly would I need Certapet for then? It felt very disingenuous. I was refunded most of my money. I feel like I spent $25 to be jerked around.

Absolutely horrendous experience !! I was weary so called the company to get details. They assured me someone would be calling me to speak. That never happened. According to the therapist, Jennifer Lopiano, who read a questionnaire.... (That’s all she did) I was declined because it seemed I was struggling in dealing with what was going on in my life. ( I think she might have missed the point of the emotional service animal). Either way it was totally a scam as they did not live up to their end of the bargain. Stay away!!!!!

My experience with Certapet is the exact OPPOSITE of what their website states. Chat sessions? NEVER an immediate response. Telephone calls? NEVER anyone available. 48 hour if not sooner turn around? Paid 01/24, got canned letter from therapist saying that she would contact me within 48 hours if she had any questions. At hour 47, she left a voicemail saying that she would call me next day (Saturday). Now mind you, I am viewing rental properties, ready to sign a lease and NEED that ESA or, NEED to find out if for some reason I have been declined. E-mailed her Saturday morning and said that I would have my phone with me at all times. Heard NADA and Saturday afternoon left her a voicemail message that was not terse but said that I felt that enough time had elapsed and that I needed for her to please call/interview me. What happened next.. whoa buddy, immediate e-mail that said that I didn't meet the criteria (Which you can count on it, I DO!). No reply from her as to when I would get my refund. E-mails to Certapet regarding this experience (horrid) no response and refund? I am sure that is going to be a fight. Update 02/01/2018 I was behind the eight ball when Certapet declined. I contacted and paid both US Service Animals and TherapyPet and had a WONDERFUL experience with both of them. The therapist(s) assigned to me from BOTH of these companies actually picked up the PHONE and called me within 4 hours of payment. Both therapists asked valid questions, listened to my reasons/explanations. They were not just "rubber stamp" approvals that Certapet represents of their competitors. Certapet finally refunded me the amount less the $25 therapist charge. Certapet represents itself as service oriented and makes claims that competitors are fraudulent when in fact my experience is the exact opposite. The e-mail that I got from the Certapet therapist was "DON'T contact me, I will contact you IF I have questions". I have no respect for Certapet, especially since they don't hold their therapists accountable.

FRAUD! Don't ruins your holidays! We paid for the certificate, but some companies are now asking you to fill their own forms, and CERTAPET refused to fill-it and refunded us only partially! STAY AWAY!

Terrible site.... went through the process and they denied my letter.... kept part of the money refunded. They must do this a lot to make their money. I feel ripped off

For travel purposes, an ESA letter must be from a doctor *treating* your mental illness. The Certapet doctors don't treat and therefore cannot write legally applicable letters.
