Poorly manufactured Carrier furnace that didn't last 6 years
I had a Carrier furnace, model 59SS5B080E171116, installed in December 2020 and it has stopped working. It's not even 6 years old! I paid two different contractors, one that is a Carrier dealer Anctil Heating and Cooling in Portland, Oregon, inspect the until and both said the two heat exchangers are totally destroyed. One described the failures as follow " Replacement heat exchanger under warranty. After removal and disassembly of old exchanger, multiple holes were found along with soot , corrosion and failed seals." Clearly, this is an example of a poorly manufactured product. The labor cost is $1500.00 dollars which Carrier does not cover. A furnace should last at least 15-20 years or up to 30 with maintenance. This furnace didn't last six years, piece of crap and I will never buy a Carrier product ever again.!!! Richard Noren
