Carrier’s negligence has cost me $20k…
Carrier’s negligence has cost me $20k on a defective $9,800 HVAC unit purchased in 2020. Over 5 years, it failed 15 times, requiring $10,000 in repairs. Despite thks Carrier refuses to honor it fully, offering a measly $5k credit toward a $16,000 R454B system, leaving me to pay $11k+ for their failure. This predatory dodge violates Florida’s FDUTPA and Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Carrier’s history of lawsuits: 2008 for defective coils, 2011 for faulty furnaces, shows a pattern of shirking responsibility. [21] I’ve filed complaints with CPSC, FDACS, Florida AG, EPA, DOH, DBPR, OFR, DOJ, DOR, and local agencies.Carrier’s scam must end!

We’re sorry to hear about the ongoing issues and the frustration you’ve experienced with repeated failures and repair costs. We understand how difficult it is when a system hasn’t performed as expected and you feel you’re not getting clear resolution. Warranty outcomes and any goodwill assistance depend on the specific unit history, installation records, and service documentation, so the best next step is to have your case reviewed directly through your local installing Carrier dealer. They can work with the distributor and Carrier on any available support options or replacement considerations. You can also contact Carrier Customer Care at 1-800-CARRIER to request a formal review and escalation of your case. They’ll be able to look at the full service record and provide the most accurate determination of what assistance, if any, can be offered.
