Richard Russo and Care Patrol were fantastic! I live out of town and am responsible for an elderly relative. I received a surprising call and was told that the Hospice facility my relative was living in was no longer appropriate for them, and I need to find another facility within two weeks. There are so many options out there and I found the choices absolutely overwhelming. New York is especially difficult as they do not publish the state board reviews of facilities, so is is particularly difficult to determine which places are good and which are not. I have tried A Place for Mom in the past and found although the agents are nice, they really don't understand the local options. A Place for Mom uses a call center approach and the most they can is chat with you and then send you a list of places. Rich and I spoke several times and then he prepared a number of options for me to review. I chose two options and then flew into town. Rich met me at the first facility, toured with me and then drove me to the next facility. He understands the pros and cons of the different facilities, the complexities of finding the right fit as well as the logistics of a transfer. I don't know what I would have done without Rich. We found a perfect place for my relative and saved quite a lot of money in the meantime. He was extraordinary and I couldn't recommend him any more highly. As the facilities pay Rich's fee, I can't think of a reason why anyone would ever do this without outside assistance.
