Went on an interview for caregiver. Family member with a problematic pet, who had bitten people before, refused to put the animal away until after the interview. The psychotic dog bit me. My advice to care.com: families need to silence their screaming kids and rabid animals when interviewing prospective caregivers.

I cancelled my subscription where they continued to charge me. I contacted them 3x to resolve the issue and no one was bothered to help me. Very disappointing.

On the one hand, they delivered what they promised. On the other hand, they make sure not to send monthly invoices. TWO YEARS they billed my credit card. Without us logging in to use their service a single time in those two years! And for those two years, they didn't send a single invoice! Just took, and took, and took. When I saw the credit card charges, I mistakenly assumed it was skin care products my wife was ordering. An honest mistake that cost us over $800, because Care doesn't send receipts or invoices. And my wife thought she had canceled after we'd finished with their services. A truly scummy tactic by a company ensuring they make as much dishonest money as they can.

AVOID THIS WEBSITE. Care.com is a poorly run business that overcharges, does not deliver results, and does not support its users when a problem is experienced. The site is filled with FAKE profiles - you must be careful about this and do not give out your personal information ever. Horrible experience with this company.

Care.com I’d a rip off. They are over priced and make you pay for everything. The customer service team sucks. You have to pay for two seperate profiles if you need a babysitter. There are still free websites out there!!

I have been a sitter with care.com since 2016 with over 16 five-star reviews gained over the years. I have never had any reports filed against me as a sitter nor filed any complaints against anyone since joining care.com. I recently encountered one parent who we disagreed on the sitting event so I tried to reach out to care.com so they could be informed of our conflict and advise me going forward. The conflict had nothing to do with the care I provided but was surrounded around my son eating her food! (Popcorn, chips and soda). I even refunded the parents money even though at best it was a misunderstanding. I was still harshly insulted and harassed by the parent long after the sitting ended and money was refunded. My care.com profile was terminated by my care.com “family” after I filed my first harassment complaint (first complaint of any kind) against these parents. I'm not upset with the parent who probably filed a complaint as well but im upset with care.com because they decided to terminate my sitter profile without warning, without even speaking to me to substantiate any claims, and regardless of my profile showing "top sitter recommended in your area" . All of my 16 reviews have been five-stars &have substantiated my reputation as a good sitter over the years but that didn't matter. Care.com DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect me as a sitter!

I have used Care.com on-and-off for four years and have found it to be an excellent service. I have found quality housekeepers on Care.com to clean my home during that time and hired 4 of them. Some advice: Like hiring anyone, it's important to exchange messages and feel comfortable with a provider before hiring them. If they don’t have references, ask for some. Be specific about what you want to have them do/assigned duties and the rate you will pay. Never assume anyone knows what you are expecting if it’s not in writing. Note related to users that have complained about auto-renewal: The easiest thing to do is, when you sign up, put a reminder on your smartphone's calendar to alert you in 29 days to downgrade your membership if you are not using it.
