Reply to reply from Care.com… From a business owner, 1.4 rating means you need to make BIG changes,..swallow your excuses and pride… LISTEN to those disappointed… and then change your policies to strike a balance. Seems to me your domain name is by far the biggest thing keeping you alive. Bad strategy. ——— The website misled me that I had to sign up with credit card first and then see sitters. They were all so expensive - way beyond my budget. Literally 5 minutes after I signed up, they refused to refund. I cannot use the service at all and am out $90, not being able to afford a $120 -$150 sitter for 4-5 hours. NOT TRANSPERANT, UNCOMPASSIONATE, no exceptions like any other decent company would offer when a customer is misled into making an obvious mistake due to their lack of transperancey and sales tactics. I will warn everyone not to trust this company.

Hi Jenna, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer. I'm a single disabled mom with two kids who went to care.com to find help around the house for Christmas. I signed up for a membership that was advertised $10/month and was charged $140. I tried to call, but the number literally hangs up on you and says use the chat. After going back and forth for 20 mins the first representative said they couldn't help me. I tried again and the second rep. told me they can only refund $90 of the $140 and I have to wait till Monday. $140 basically ruins Christmas for someone in my position and even if they refund $90 I've lost $50, 9 days before Christmas from a company that advertises care. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Awful. The service sucks. I don't trust the quality of caregivers on there at all. Also, I am convinced that I was charged again on my subscription even though I cancelled. It's very suspicious that they do not send you a confirmation email when you cancel. So you have no proof of cancellation unless you screenshot, which I have now down.

We signed up for a single month in 2018 and have been charged $43 per month ever since. I never received an invoice or receipt in any form and the only reason I even saw that I was being charged was because I signed up for Apple Pay and my wallet showed the charge. I will be filing a compliant with our State’s consumer protection office and the BBB. This site is a scam that provides not even the basic necessity of a bill of sale. Shameful and illegal business practice. NOT ONE SINGLE RECEIPT IN 3 YEARS. Shameful.
