such a difficult site to navigate, definitely very manipulative/dark UX patterns and do not prioritize their users. designed to keep users throwing tons of money with little to no service. every step is designed to be difficult for the average user to wants to see what the site has to offer. Facebook groups are much more efficient for finding an actual vetted caregiver with trustworthy reviews from your own community.

Inconsistent Care. In 2019, we spent months trying to find someone who would be consistent and reliable and were unable. After cutting our losses, we picked a Montessori and cancelled the service. To my surprise, the service wasn't cancelled and we've paid them ~$750 for unused service over a span of 4yrs, no e-mail notifications or texts communicating billing cycle. Looking at their Ts&Cs, they're aware of what they're doing. Stay clear, and ask friends/fam for references instead.

I agree with most of the other reviews. they trick you into a auto renew contract (not obvious when you sign up). I initally paid for 3 months - used it for 1 week. Then they auto renewed it at a higher rate for another 3 months. No give you advance notice of the renewal and will not refund the money. Customer service rep could barely speak English and had to ask 20 question to find my account/charge which tells me their systems suck. Should be able to find with my name

The process of applying was simple enough at the start; however, there were several points at which the site would reload, and my application started to look more like a babysitter application than the tutor application I had been filling out. Whatever, technical difficulties, right? Well, I get to the part where it says I need a background check. I put in my info, and it said my payment didn't go through. The next day, I saw not one, not two, but three charges on my account. Thankfully I was able to fix it through my bank, but support was 1) difficult to find contact info for and 2) super unhelpful. Not even a response to indicate they received my message. Do not attempt to work for Care.com. If you need to use their services, I completely understand. But seriously, try to look elsewhere. They are sketchy and honestly not worth the time or effort.

I signed up for a paid subscription after seeing a multitude of pet sitters available on care.com. The site encourages you to download their app on your smartphone which I did. In the last 1-1/2 weeks since I signed up, I have had nothing but sketchy experiences. The one sitter that I chose did not reach out to me as I requested although they 'accepted' a petsitting assignment. I am NOT going to have someone show up sight unseen to stay in my home and take care of my dogs without an interview or conversation. Honestly, I do not believe that the sitter exists. I cancelled and had to pay a $20 fee. Think of this, someone can accept multiple assignments and refuse to coordinate with the requestors, and collect a $20 cancellation fee right and left. I was unable to get a pro-rated refund per care's terms. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROVIDER. I, too, wish I had read the plethora of bad reviews prior to signing up. I usually do. I can recommend Rover.com as an excellent source for pet sitting. I signed up for Rover (free of charge) and have had excellent and accessible candidates. The experiences between Care and Rover are like night and day. Do not use Care.com!

Stay away ........... ONE BIG CON They quote "Basic" .. even "membership" ... is a joke. BEWARE, each & every time you seek eg. Cleaner for elderly ladies one bed home, you are NOT able to reply OR correspond with any applicant without being directed to their PAYMENT page & paying £100's p/a member choice options. So, "Basic" gives you NOTHING (for nothing) literally. Someone out there, STRIKE OFF this company (Bet USA has some connection) !!!

Scam. Do not use. Just read the reviews here. Take money from you and nothing happens. Will be seeking refund through my bank.

I wish I had see the reviews first.. the whole platform is a scam, the jobs advert are fake and if someone is replying is only to ask you to pay for a security check with a company that is acting on behalf of gov.uk…I paid for premium and but I didn’t fall for the security check scam…. Behind 80%of the job advert are the same people, who wants the same thing,to scam you and take your money…. I reported them and the company that pretend to do the checks ( checkmate security consulting Ltd)on companies house and hope that they are going to do something…
