Horrible service for registering as a caregiver. I completed my profile 3 months ago and when I attempt to find jobs, I get a message saying “ unexpected error occurred occurred. Please try again later.” Later has been over 10 Weeks now. Deleted app, re loaded and paid premium. Still same issue and can’t even click on Help tab!!!

I posted two jobs (cleaner and childminder/ babysitter) in this website and I got lots of people who showed interest in the jobs. Unfortunately when I invited them to come to discuss the job, they didn’t turn up. I paid premium for nothing

Site seems to be great for those looking for a caregiver, but horrid for someone to register to provide a service. The site defaults to Childcare. Not everyone does Childcare. Yet the site forces you to fill out that section before you can get to the other sections. Their 'chat' option leaves something to be desired. Such as they don't understand what you are asking them, therefore giving useless responses. Perhaps they should read some of these reviews and solve the problems. It would be helpful to all.

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Paid for a yearly membership thinking it would be useful and considering they put the caregivers behind a pay wall. On top of paying the caregiver, there was an additional fee to use care.com as the middle man. I thought that was what the membership fee was for? I was wrong. Never once ended up using them. Then I get a surprise charge this year from them for 155. Never said ok to a renewal for the yearly fee. I figured "I'll call, let them know I don't want to have this membership and I would get my money back". Especially considering I never once used them and called days after the charge. Got hit with a "we will cancel the membership, but the fee is not refundable." They are thieves. Crooks. Terrible emotionless people. Thanks care.com for one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I will make sure EVERYONE I know (I'm middle aged with 3 young children with friends that all have 2+ children) hears about what my experience with this company was like. Sad thing is, I'm not the only one this has happened to by the sound of it. Believe the negative reviews!

Awful. They charge this ridiculous fee plus want you to pay more for background check, driving records, etc. when I signed up, first thing that pops up is another service that was for tax filing and, of course, it was an extra fee. Site is hard to maneuver. They don’t make it easy to cancel once you sign up. So far I’ve had one caregiver respond and she just wanted to know the hours. Look elsewhere for your caregiver needs.

Avoid. Unless you like wasting money and getting unqualified candidates contact you

I have mixed feelings about this service. Last year I was able to find a good caregiver. However their situation changed and I needed to find another one. I've reached out to over a dozen caregivers listed on their website who advertise as being available for hire. Half of them responded back that they weren't available and the other have never bothered to respond. Why would Care.com list caregivers who aren't available as being available. This is a huge waste of time for their customers trying to navigate an already difficult situation they are in. I've gotten no help and have exhausted all the caregivers in my area. I have no idea what I've paid them for.

Care.com is a real disappointment. The idea seems reasonable and helpful enough- and I actually found their actual service---helping to search for and interview/hire a babysitter or nanny quite helpful. My problem was that I was a very vulnerable caregiver and their ridiculous subscription slipped past me. I signed up for help finding care when I was being admitted into care for severe postpartum (like, suicidal levels of sick). I used the service for about a month and a half before finding someone (not on the site). I thought I had cancelled the service-- it looks like I deleted the profile for the position (according to care.com). It seems something happened with cancelling the subscription and it didn't go through. I was really sick and I did what I could to end the relationship when I didn't require the service anymore. That was 3 years ago, and thanks to a spending monitoring app I just signed up for, they caught that I have been paying $60/month since Summer 2021! I have given them almost 2k over the past 3 years without using their service at all. Despite being really ill when using them and then doing my best to cancel the subscription after month one or 2 unsuccessfully, it kept going. When I realized (and could obviously prove I hadn't touched the site in the past 2.5 years) I contacted care.com multiple times to see if they would consider a refund given I had not used the service that entire time and had genuinely thought it was cancelled...they repeatedly, no matter who I talked to, told me that there are no refunds clearly stated in the fine print when you sign up. I found my AMAZING nanny through word-of-mouth from conversations with other moms with nannies and babysitters. Care.com is only profitable (and able to take advantage of customers and care providers) if we give them our money. I genuinely didn't mean to...and was a really vulnerable user at the time. It's really disappointing that a company purporting to HELP parents really is only interested in the money. My money was taken for 2.5 and I got 0 services for that spending. They didn't even offer a partial refund or credit or anything. Terribly disappointed in this experience.
