I had a quick and seamless chat with Abhay. My question was answered and resolved right away.

I was looking for a way to register a French phone number to provide customer services for my clients who are doing businesses in France. I looked up on Google and I found CallHippo at the first result. So I visited the site. After I signed up, there was a man called my phone number suddenly. And the call quality was very bad due to some technical issues or some slow connections on their side. It was my very first impression of their customer service. I checked the site and I found a nice French phone number. Then their live chat box popped in. I asked for "her" help that I need a French number but I'm not actually living in France, and I wasn't sure if it's ok for a foreigner to get a French phone number. "She" constantly confirmed me that I could get it. I sensed something wrong here. But I trusted CallHippo because it's the first result on Google. "She" suggested me subscribe for a phone number from US or Canada. And "she" constantly confirmed that their staff will help me to purchase a French phone number. I believed that they might be some special agency who can provide a specific line of French phone numbers only for foreigners. I subscribed an US number. I intended to subscribe a year to save cost. But my gut told me to try only 1 month before committing a long time subscription. Then, nasty things happened. After I subscribed, I installed their app on my iPhone. The app kept crashing everytime I opened it. I went back to live chat box, and I asked the same person who convinced me to subscribe for an US number. The only answer I got from "her" is "No, it runs smoothly". Nothing else from that salesman. After that rude reply, another technical person joined the live chat and that salesman went away. Until now, I still cannot run their app on my iPhone. I tried the app on my Android. It's a bit laggy. But it can run. I signed up for Whatsapp with that number, OTP from SMS never come. I signed up several accounts with that number for other supporting apps. And of course, SMSs never come. Today, I got 2 emails letting me know that I have to provide proof that I'm living in France in order to subscribe a French phone number. It's kind of funny now. Thanks Trustpilot and other 3 true reviewers here! Lucky for me that I won't step into the same hole. Today is Aug 6, 2021. I encountered the same issue as other buyers encountered. Even I switched payment method to PayPal for more protection. They don't charge my PayPal account. They keep charging my card (the original one which I made my first payment to CallHippo)
