Caliber (VA) Job Review
I recently quit Caliber and there’s some things I couldn’t help but think I wished I knew this before I got hired, my role was as a front desk and my payment compensation could have been achieved at a less stressful industry with less conflicts of interest. Management Approach (Raises and bonuses- getting promoted): If you’re still in the interview process I’d recommend studying your skills and what you bring into the table so you can negotiate a salary range on whatever high end of the pay range is offered for your position. Once you’re hired chances of increasing your pay require a lot of effort and follow up with center and regional manager. Not only I experienced a lot of excuses when it came to increasing my pay I witness other coworkers struggle with the same issue regardless of workload changed, tip #2 if you are to accept a heavier workload with hopes to grow your career with caliber make sure you have everything documented through email, responsibilities expected and pay increase negotiated. (I witness someone getting promoted and then the pay range was changed on the paperwork) Tip #3 - Know your metrics, be your metrics the first thing you learned about the company and what are the qualifiers and disqualifying conditions, I thought my manager was going to go over this with me periodically and I probably lost some money on there. During the live training asks how to get in touch with your HR representative for the area, send them an email and double check with them your bonus structure along with the disqualifying criteria. Have some screenshots ready of your score card around the end of the moth and email it to your center manager and HR department, don’t even ask your manager if you should or should not add HR, this would make them less likely to disregard your requests for a pay increase or growing to a different position also there’s a lot of favoritism which is another reason to have everything documented. (Raises were given to the manager’s son, and coworkers that shared activities outside work with him, other than that nobody would get a raise under the excuse of “not enough sales”. -Sales Goals Vs Quality of the Repairs: This is an easy one, they prioritize the highest amount of sales, regardless of deductibles/ pre-payments properly collected or quality repairs. If you’re interested in an admin/ office manager role be prepared to have no support by your manager or coworkers not even regional when it comes to SOPs taught on training and also learn de-escalating skills as managers like to put that responsibility on S.A’s, front desk and office admin/managers -Profit Driven Prioritization: Be prepared for a rude message or even claims that you’re lying if you get sick, a family member dies, your pet gets sick on or around the end of the month. Manager and Upper manager could care less about that because all they want is to push as many cars out during that week. BENEFITS (HSA, TRANSIT OR PARKING): Make sure you use all the balance before putting your two weeks because the account will be deactivated and remaining funds will return to Caliber
