We stayed in INDULGENCE, a one bedroom cabin. It was updated, very pretty, and spacious. The check-in clerk was very nice and helpful. I would have given a higher rating but the cabin was very dusty around the fixtures and trim. The view off the back porch was disappointing to say the least as it consisted of a storage unit and main road. The fire place was electric and didn't work. That being said it was minutes from the parkway so overall a nice stay.

good location but average overall
Location is good for the particular cabin I rented, close enough to town to make it easily accessible but you didn't have to deal with all the traffic. The hot tub leaked a bit and lost water throughout the week we were there, it was reported and refilled quickly. The bed in the main bedroom was not very comfortable, mattress was thin and the bed was very noisy when you where getting in and out. The detergent supplied for the dishwasher didn't rinse off well and left a gritty film on the dishes. Dishes need to be washed before first use and hand washed for the majority of the week.

Poor Service !!!!
Talked with Kristin G. at Gatlinburg Falls Resort today, Feb. 12. She was very understanding and helpful. She listened to our com[plaint. They have refunded us $320.00. And was apologetic. And offered a discount for future stay.
UP DATE: Wow, They sent email asking us to call to discuss the issues we had. We called today Feb. 07 and told them why we were calling and was put on hold for app 5 mins. Then someone else picked up and ask how could they help us. I told them we were returning their request for us to call reference our review. The lady said "What ?" I then stated never mind. Same issue with customer service we had while staying with them. We do not ever do a review but felt it was necessary this time.
We arrived on Jan 25 at 330 pm. 6 adults and six children. Went to the Cabin- Grin N Bear It. Unpacked and then discovered no water in cabin. Called and was advised they would do a work order. Time for someone to check issue would be 2 to 4 hrs. Then discovered would be Saturday before water would be on. Finally at 9 pm got moved to a smaller cabin. Unpacked again only to find out we could only be there one night and would have to move again Saturday morning. Moved again and unpacked again. Everytime we called for status we were told they would called us back, never did, we continually had to call them. Customer Service is poor. What a messed up weekend dealing with them. Also, at the Grin N Bear It cabin- kitchen sink was nasty, toilets not cleaned, floors not swept, not sure about hot tub never got to it. Never Again!!!!

Water, mildew, and THEFT!
We went to Gatlinburg with friends of the family. My wife's best friend has cancer again so we took her and her family to get away and enjoy a weekend. We stayed at Misty Cove. We booked late but fortunately we found it to be available. I see why now! Basement was flooded, hottub didn't work, bathrooms were disgusting! The whole place smelled like mildew! We didn't check in until late Friday so Saturday morning we went in and reported all of the issues. They said someone would be out that day to make sure everything was done so we could have a good rest of the weekend. We got back in the evening and nothing was done, toilet paper was placed on the kitchen table, and ALL OF OUR CLOTHES WERE DUMPED OUT! My wife's best friend had a small box stolen that container her cancer survivor bracelet, a tennis bracelet and a ring that was way down in the bottom of her suitcase! Her 17 year old washed all of her clothes because the thought of someone going through her clothes disgusted her! We called the police and filed a report and the next morning we went to the office to check out. We sent pictures and explained what happened. They gave us more money off and offered us 2 free days with the purchase of the first night in a cabin! That was it! It was probably the worst weekend we had ever had in Gatlinburg and we still had to pay more than $300 for two nights and walked away with a promise of two nights free in the future! We don't even know if my wife's best friend will be around to enjoy it!!! How about a FULL refund and a FREE weekend to make up for the one YOU ruined!!?? I am not one to get something for nothing but this weekend meant alot to both of our families and we didn't ask for the cabin to be in horrible condition and for THEIR STAFF TO GO THROUGH OUR THINGS AND STEAL FROM US!!! All of that stuff was on YOU!!! Not US!!! The lady at the front desk was GREAT but the people that make the decisions need to figure things out.. The front desk lady is the best part of this company. Management is horrible, cabins are disgusting, and maintenance should all be arrested for theft!
UPDATE: I had a trip scheduled for Dec 1 and the company called and offered me a handpicked cabin for those days. They gave me 3 days for the price of 1. They sent us the link and it looked really nice. The weekend went great! The place was clean and all of the appliances and games were in great working order. The hottub was just what we needed. My family and I appreciate them making up for the previously horrible stay! We stayed in the Cherokee Ridge and we had a wonderful stay so thank you for your effort in making things right! We definitely recommend Cherokee Ridge! We had a wonderful time! I increased my rating to 3 stars but I have to be honest and say that we have stayed in more than 20 cabins in Gatlinburg and we have had much better experiences with other cabin management companies. The move in seems so much easier and the beds in other cabins have been so much more comfortable. I do, however, appreciate the fact that you work with tenants to ensure a great visit to the Smokies.

This is an updated review of our visit
This is an updated review of our visit. After leaving negative feedback on our experience at The Big Easy, I was contacted by two people who had genuine concerns about our issues during our visit. I am impressed by the effort made and their offer of compensation for our troubles. I will give them another try.

Review of Cabins of the Smoky Mountains
Reviewed September 26, 2018
My family recently rented a cabin from Cabins of the Smoky Mountains / Gatlinburg Falls, and we experienced a problem with finding the cabin.
In the dark, with a heavy rain falling, we searched steep and winding mountain roads for the cabin we had rented, but we had been sent the wrong house number.
A map with lot numbers, not house numbers, would have been of tremendous help. Lot numbers were visible from the road, and I believe we could have found the unit if we’d had a map that showed lot numbers and where the various cabins were in relation to one another.
I feared for my family’s safety because we had to keep turning around on steep mountains roads—and I feared for the safety of other families who might rent in that area.
On TripAdvisor, because of those fears, I recommended people look elsewhere for lodging.
I am happy to report that a representative of the agency, Destiny Hooper, made contact with me and asked for suggestions about how the problem might be resolved.
I asked her to drive into the area at night, as we had, so that she would understand the problem we had experienced. That’s going the extra mile, but that is exactly what she did.
She understood completely when we suggested renters needed a map. Within three days, Ms. Hooper had created a map with lot numbers to identify the properties. I was much relieved when she sent me a copy: yes, future renters will be able to find their cabins with such a clear map.
We had no trouble with the unit itself, only in gaining safe and prompt access, and I am most grateful for the prompt response to our problem. I do recommend travelers ask for a copy of the map when they stop by the rental agency to check in. Not all units are in that area, of course, but if your cabin is—you will definitely want the map.
Reflective guard rails would also be helpful, and Mrs. Hooper hopes to work with the Homeowners Association on that. Also be prepared to cross a very narrow bridge to access your rental (do not enter the area at a fast speed, for sure).
Cabins of the Smoky Mountains responded so quickly that I was indeed impressed, and I am relieved that future renters will arrive safely at their destination.
Many thanks to Ms. Hooper for her genuine concern and prompt response.Show less

Checking in was terrible
Checking in was terrible. Had done early check to skip that hassle. Not only was there no early check in, the check in was late as I waited in a line of people with the same problem. Would have arrived a day later if I had known, it was miserable killing half a day with 3 kids that had been in the car for several hours. We had to call to get towels and toiletries. I was not going to write this review, but have been emailed constantly asking for it. 3 stars is generous, there are other places that will work harder to earn your business & I will not be back.
