Disappointed 😞
Your customer service people are great, but the doctor I had did NOT listen to my medical information and gave me the wrong dosage & unnecessary progesterone. I had a Full hysterectomy 25 yrs ago. Having to low estrogen & no testosterone. I gained 15 pounds in 2 months ! Telling me that the DHEA is all I need instead of the testosterone. I even told him the dosages I was on. Now I have a new doctor that increased my estrogen, but you don't carry testosterone. So I have had to order it from a different company . So this was a waste of time ,money & now I have to take off this weight.

We apologize for any confusion regarding your prescribed treatment plan, Shain. You were already taking an Estrogen and Progesterone medication, as well as Testosterone, before you joined us at Winona. If a woman still has her uterus intact, taking Estrogen alone has the potential to increase the risk of uterine cancer. Progesterone helps keep the estrogen from facilitating an overgrowth of uterine cells, which is why we prescribe the two together. Only in cases where a woman has had a complete hysterectomy will our doctors prescribe Estrogen without Progesterone. However, Progesterone does offer other benefits and some women who have had their uterus removed request to take it even though it is not always necessary. You asked your Winona doctor to prescribe a treatment plan similar to what you were already on, which included Progesterone. Your Winona doctor explained to you that we were not able to replicate the exact dosages of your previous medications, but that it would be similar. You requested to order a 3 month supply of Estrogen patches, a 3 month supply of Progesterone cream, and a 3 month supply of DHEA capsules. We recognize that all women are different and may have different needs when it comes to their hormones. While Progesterone was not necessarily needed in your situation, it was not deemed harmful, and your Winona doctor was willing to let you continue taking it. We are also sorry you did not like the DHEA capsules. Testosterone is a controlled substance and there are restrictions around its use, especially when it comes to online prescriptions. While we don't offer Testosterone therapy, we do provide DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) therapy, as a safer alternative with similar benefits. DHEA does not require the frequent bloodwork and intensive monitoring that Testosterone requires to prevent unwanted side effects. It is a safer and gentler way for women to get the Testosterone that they need. Unfortunately, weight gain is also a common complaint during this phase of life. As we age, our metabolism slows down, we lose muscle mass, and weight is distributed in other areas. We understand that this can be a difficult and frustrating situation. However, it's important to note that weight gain is not directly linked to HRT. In fact, studies suggest that the use of HRT is associated with less weight gain and potential beneficial effects on muscle mass over time. Our Chief Medical Officer has discussed this topic in more detail in our Medical Journal here: https://bywinona.com/journal We are always here to support you, so please message your Winona doctor or our Patient Care team anytime for any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your treatment plan. We are happy to assist you anytime!
